Actually, after running the rom for a couple of weeks, it seems to have fixed itself regarding the syncing.

Might try giving it a shot... mine is working with WMDC in Vista.

it was put out before that you can put the phone into bootloader and then hook up to your computer and flash that way or flash from you sd card and that's still the case unless something new has come up that I havent read about.

I havent tried it via usb but - in Xp, Vista and Ubuntu - Syncing works fine Via Bluetooth - I havent used the beta for everyday use yet but Try Bluetooth if possible - HTC's (Touch, Mogul and Tp) is notorious for the Mini usb to stop working so I plug it in as little as possible. hope this helps a bit

I think he's trying to sync, not flash...

Whether syncing or Rom changing you can plug your phone in via use while on bootloader screen and XP and Vista will find a mobile device - just ignore setup and load rom - to get to the bootloader screen do the following:

Press and Hold the Power and Volume Down buttons and use the stylus to reset your phone while holding those 2 buttons.
From here you can load via SD card or from pc

Deck doesnt want his ROMs uploaded to any other place, you should get his permission to try and do what you are wanting to do.

can you not use another computer or another browser to try and download the ROM? could even ask a friend to download it for you, you should try this ROM or wait until Friday when his new one comes out as Deck has been putting out some great work, anyways have a good day.
