Hey Deck and all

Hate to sound like a newb but I flashed my TP for the first time last night with your 204-S rom and have been having nothing but troubles. I know everyone loves this rom so maybe I'm doing something wrong or my expectations are too high but here is what's going on:

I flashed and then setup and then hard reset and resetup like many recommend. After that I active-synced. I wanted to get my txt msgs back on so I opened up MS MyPhone to do a restore (fyi my MyPhone acct doesn't have any photos, songs, etc). The MyPhone dload was taking forever so I plugged my phone into the wall and went to bed. When I woke up it was locked up still dloading so I did a soft reset. But instead of soft reseting it hard reset (came back up to tap the screen to setup windows mobile).

No big deal nothing was on there really so I went ahead and re-setup the phone and then reflashed the rom just for good measure. This time I resetup the phone, synced, and then tried to MyPhone restore while keeping an active-sync partnership running. It got to like 90% and then things just slowed down to a snail's pace. I tried navigating around the phone but it was like molasses. So I softreset and it came up and I got to use the phone for a little bit. It was working but def seemed slower than the stock rom.

Still not all my txts were on there (7000 or so is that a big problem?) so I decided to try another method and loaded up PPCPimBackup and tried to do a restore. It got about half way and then locked up. Had to softreset but it wouldn't boot. soft reset another couple times (wouldn't go past TouchPro radio details etc screen) and finally it came up HARD RESET (tap screen to setup windows mobile).

So I don't know what's going on but I gotta think this thing should not be hard reseting on me right? I haven't loaded anything other than psShutXP the first go around and PPCPimBackup the second go around.

Any ideas? Should I reflash for a third time?

Also - I haven't seen anyone answer this question from earlier but what is the fix for almost none of the ringtones working?

thx for responding to this long post.

Hi, I've been reading through all that you said and the only things I saw that might be a problem are 1) yes, 7,000 text messages is a lot to sync at one time, and 2) you don't need to be connected to activesync in order to sync through microsoft MyPhone. Microsoft MyPhone works wirelessly through your device's internet connection. That might be why your sync was so slow and didn't not finish...

I used MyPhone to back up my files, sms, calendar, etc. when I flashed to this ROM and I was able to restore my files with no problem.

I don't know if it was just a blown flash or what, but I had some super large selection boxes in most of the control panel options that looked like they were for a device twice the resolution of the Touch Pro. Some drop down boxes were almost off-screen. Haven't seen anybody else mention this, so I guess it's just me.

So Deck... I reverted back to 0203-S, but wondered if the fix for the contact scrolling was something you could share with me to add to this older ROM. It was the ONLY real issue I had with it. I'm assuming it's an updated Manila file?

yea the 21928 sys has the ui changes, they are implementing to be more touch user friendly.

unfortunately, the scrolling fix is a little more complaicated then that. it was dependencies that were missing, and outdated dll's. let me see if i can make a cab with the ish, im not sure if it will work or not tbh. ill post back ina few...

Hey guys, been tweaking a lot of stuff and finally got the phone where I want it. Love the rom and I won't be switching. Here is 1 thing I would like to know if anyone else found a fix for though.

I've read every post since 204 released and I notice most people have the sprint music store working for them. I don't and I'm using 204 stuffed. It tells me that I have been re-directed and click the sprint music store button to go there, I do that and it just says the same thing... So mine is not working. Any info is apprecaited.

Other than that all is great, the phone does freeze every now and then but nothing a soft reset doesn't fix when I notice it. Anyways, thanks again!!!

I wanted to comment on this as well. I wanted to do the same thing as the person who first posted about this. I wanted to put all my texts back on and I used PPCIMbackup, was about 3000 texts. It took over 20 minutes to finish putting everything on, I thought it froze... but no it does not. You think it freezes cause it is processing so much. When it's done with that... the phone then sifts through every message placing it in either sent or inbox or drafts... whatever they were before. They won't be threaded either and it may even look funny. I can't even imagine how long 7,000 texts would take to load and then process. Same reason why MSmyphone was taking soo long... that's such a huge amount to load and process.

My suggestion to you and what I did was let PPCIMbackup run overnight, it will do it's thing, apparently even with screen off(it did for me), and the next morning it should be all done, give a soft reset, and should be good to go. Otherwise it could take hours and during that time, phone calls and messages that may be incoming will just slow it down even more.

Hope my experience helps.
