I have the HTC Touch Pro and i'm with Telus. I did a hard reset prior to flashing but did not do one after. Actually it appears that the problem only seems to happen if I run googlemaps immediately after a soft reset, if I wait maybe 10 minutes before using it the phone doesn't soft reset (as far as I have seen).

you should ALWAYS do a hard reset (Clear Storage) after flashing a rom.
