Basic Rom Recommendations (Without Touch Flow 3D)?

Back during my Mogul days, I was a diehard fan of DCD's roms. They were fast, no frills, and consistently reliable. I'm now looking for something similar for the TP.

With the Touch Pro I have realized how useless the TF3D interface is (that took me 1 month to figure out). It's flashy, but I'm all about function and it just doesn't deliver. Besides, it's not like we can match the "wow neato" eye-appeal factor with our phones compared to an iPhone. It seems most Windows Mobile phones always seem to have a glitch, delay or some kind of freeze-up issue the few times I decide to show off my tech to someone. It's rather humbling.

*steering back on topic*

Is there a very basic rom out there that does all the basic features of the TP well (wifi, bluetooth, gps, Internet Sharing, etc), but also includes the fast charge over usb? All I need is the basic WM6.1 interface. Currently I'm running MightyRom 4.14 with the TF3D disabled (didn't care for his newer roms), but it is very buggy when using Internet Sharing (data freezes, phone locks up) and there are times my phone locks randomly as though the cpu is overtaxed.

Thanks for your input!

I would like the SAME thing with Verizon. I am also using the MR. I do not like the TF3D interface either. I was an AVID user of DCD's Roms with the Titan also! I want something basic that is fast - no frills. +1 on your request op.

I tried 4.16 and something was messed up. I can't remember what exactly the problem(s) was since I have flashed a few different roms since then.

Has someone already tried to bribe DCD with a free TP to get him on our side?

Oh boy are those true words or what.

And for your ICS issue, I tethered for a couple hours yesterday (streaming something) and it got quite hot. I noticed the battery was at 70% when I was done. I am on the Telus 1.04 radio.

Re: Basic Rom Recommendations (Without Touch Flow 3D)?

Best rom is Sceptre's rom with 6.1 bare bones runs high memory. I run SPB mobile 3.0 and have about 145 m of memory at boot and about 132 without any resets at all. Never locked up and I have had that rom for about a month.
No TF3d which i realized as you did that its really not very functional ,though it looks pretty cool.

I have a sprint touch pro but there is a verizon edition in the post search for sceptre's rom.

Yeah, I've tried Sceptre rom in the past. I think the last time I was testing it, it didn't have the fast charge working right (so it would bleed off battery while tethering).

I may try it again, but I didn't really take well to the Point UI. It was cool, but sometimes glitchy. I just prefer the plain jane Windows Mobile 6.1 interface.

Who knows... maybe I'll get wild and try flashing it just for kicks today. It's been over a month since I last flashed a rom.

Yeah. I get a hot phone too while tethering or doing intensive text messaging, but I have a cooling solution that has worked pretty well so far for tethering(I will post a youtube review of this method pretty soon and link it in the parent forum).
