What are Rhodium / Titanium / Manilla / etc etc ?

I know it will sound weird that after 650+ posts I've lost track of what all do these versions mean / differ ?

- Rhodium
- Manilla
- Titanium
- Are they different from TF3D / TF2D ?

Sorry if this sounds too basic a question, but I would really lke to know it... maybe there should be a palce on one of the stickies for Glossary / terms etc

From my understanding (please feel free to correct me):

Rhodium is TF3D2- The new version of TF3D from another phone and ported by xbmod.

Manilla- not too sure about this one myself, I thought it was the generic name given to TF2D and TF3D- also, I was never clear on the difference between TF2D and TF3D, they both looked similar in screenshots.

Titanium is the new WM 6.5 today screen alternative to TF3D. Here's a screenshot of it with a cool skin: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3551/...b282e91610.jpg

Re: What are Rhodium / Titanium / Manilla / etc etc ?

Rhodium is the Code Name for the New TF3D2
Manilla is the Code Name for the Old TF3D
Titanium is the Code Name for the WinMo 6.5 Interface

For even better aid Rhodium is the TF3D2 for the New Touch Pro 2 where as Manilla is for the TF3D assoicated with the Touch Pro/Fuze etc.

Re: What are Rhodium / Titanium / Manilla / etc etc ?

there's a huge difference from tf2d and tf3d....although they look similiar in screenshots....tf2d is definitely the lil brother and if u use it u'll see why.

i was wondering the difference between the two as well till i loaded a rom with it on a friends Touch. that's when i recognized...oh yea this is garbage, definitely see the difference now.

Thanks all..

Psyki's ROM thread says 'Rhodium Manilla' in the same breath... that kinda throws me off balance...

So golden thing for us going forward i guess would be just Titanium (6.5 onwards... )

Re: What are Rhodium / Titanium / Manilla / etc etc ?

Rhodium is another name for Touch Pro 2 which has the next generation Manila (TF3D2)

Manila is just another name for TF3D. I believe they call it Manila because all the file names for TF3D has "Manila" within them

Titanium is the Code Name for the WinMo 6.5 Interface as someone stated above. The reason it's called "Titanium" is because of the same reason TF3D is called "Manila".

Re: What are Rhodium / Titanium / Manilla / etc etc ?

I believe that manilla is more the name for the touch flo interface.

Rhodium, TF3D, TF2D are flavors of manilla...
kinda like saying manilla = windows (except manilla is a gui that hides WM)
Rhodium manilla = Vista
TF3D manilla = XP
TF2D manilla = 98

Different HTC phones put different versions of manilla on it (to cover Windows Mobile) that are customized for that specific hardware. So the new phones code named 'Rhodium' & 'Topaz' will have different versions of manilla except we 'geekz dont always differentiate between phone (rhodium = Touch pro 2) and its associated graphical user interface (manilla) that is used to hide the operating system (WM 6.1 or 6.5). I think Microsoft knows WM operating system is ugly, so now they are shipping phones with Titanium gui to cover it up...though HTC may keep adding versions of manilla that would be used instead of Titanium.

I hope that helps
