Another thing I'm trying to decide is whether to wait until Psyki releases the next version since it seems to be close at hand and I don't know how much hassle it is to keep reflashing roms. It sounds some people around here change roms more often than underwear.

For a while there I was doing it a couple 4-5 times a day...at least.

Actually, I just finished flashing back to Psyki's ROM LOL

It won't hurt to flash the ROM and see what Psyki's ROM is all about....."actions speak louder then words"

Trust me on this....you will love it :)

lol!

It seems you do it during important events during the day ( Breakfast, quick snack, lunch, brunch, dinner) :)

Pretty much. If I see a new ROM or release, i'll check it out. I usually keep one that is my "this is the one to run" like Psyki's, but just this weekend alone I've flashed probably every one's new release...twice on some.. :)

I know very little about flashing or ROMs but am becoming more curious about all this stuff. I just got the Sprint HTC Touch Pro and the battery drains like crazy. I have read several threads and most of you seem to change/flash ROMs just as fast as my battery drains. I bricked my last phone, a Samsung i760, just by trying to update to Windows 6.1!

1. Are there any hazards to flashing my new phone?
2. If I screw up can I return to the factory version?
3. Does flashing remove all my data?
4. If so, when do you folks that flash all day long ever use your phone?

Again, I just spent $300 on this phone so pardon my ignorance and hesitation, but I really would like a solution, even slight, to the major battery drain - and it seems a new ROM is the answer other than a backpack sized battery. In my opinion, the battery drain is the only bad aspect of this phone.

1. Yes, there are hazards. But I think it's if you do it WRONG. I think if you follow the directions then you're safe. If you don't, you can "brick" your phone, (i.e. kill it). First you have to unlock it before you can flash a custom rom. See HERE :
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Use SPL 0.37. If you follow directions, this is very easy stuff.

2. you can usually flash back to a stock rom if you can find one on here. Here is the thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741

3. Yes, so if there is anything you want to keep make a backup of it using PIM backup or SPRITE BACKUP or SPB BACKUP or RESCO BACKUP or via SkTOOLS, or whatever other means you find to backup your data. It does not erase your memory card, just all the data on your device.

4... WHAT? If you don't have time to do it.. don't do it. Simple as that.

But on a serious note it really takes about 10 minutes to "flash" and get the ROM running. Call it another 30-45 minutes getting it set up to the way you like it. I change my sliders and taskbar and all that good stuff to what I like and then your set until you want to change it again. So...about an hour of your time to really get the phone "right" if it's a relatively bug free ROM. But sometimes it's fun chasing down and trying to fix the problems.

And really, after you've flashed a couple times, you start getting faster at it.

this is by far my favorite rom that i've tried...i love the choice of colors and font also! is anyone else having problems with the tf3d2 text message reply? my on-screen keyboard pops up over the input text box and you can't access it after that.

edit: ok i'm an idiot, i installed the cdma fix and it worked. but now here is the big question...does anyone here know how to install the corner clock, transparent icons & slider with invisible curtains?
