Unhappy HELP with flash back to sprint rom

Hi, I would appreciate some help with my touch pro. The USB port of the touch pro is damaged and I can not charge it nor sync it with the pc. I have to return it for a replacement. I wanted to flashed the rom back to sprint rom before I send it back. But I am having so much difficulty with it. The USB port is not working. So I tried the microSD method by copying and changing the NBH file to the MicroSD root directory. But It DOES NOT WORK. The phone says No IMAGE FILE, then proceed with serial, which I can not use. Please help how could I flash it back? I thought about sync. the pro with pc via bluetooth, but my pc does not have bluetooth. I could have used infrare port, but the touch pro does not have it. So, what could I ? If I return the phone without flashing it back, would I get charged? Thanks!

Re: HELP with flash back to sprint rom

Do you have a folder with the stock Sprint ROM in the top level of the SD card?

Is it called RUU?

Those are the first things I'd check...

What file are you changing the name of? Is it in the top level (outside of the RUU folder) as well?

NO, I do not have any folder with the stock sprint ROM, only the RAPHIMG.NBH file, Do I need to have them? I changed the RUU-assigned.nbh to raphimg.nbh. the whole microSD card has only that file. I downloaded both the sprint stock roms of the shipped and dumped version, tried individually.

Thank you for your reply!

Have you formated the card FAT32. It has to be in fat32. If you have file extensions hidden, when you rename it, it should just be RAPHIMG (capitalized)

Yes, the card is FAT32 although I did not format it. I tried with or without the extensions, neither worked.

Try reformatting the card with 4K sectors. These are smaller sectors that the phone shoudl be able to read.

How big is the card?

Make sure you do capityalize RAPHIMG.NBH as noted above.

It can be done but the card has to be formatted properly.

Well, the Touch Pro just doesn't like flashing from certain mem cards, so it could be that. Especially if it's 8gb or bigger. As far as the USB issue, have you tried a different cable and/or a different computer?

Gee, it is a 8GB microSD card. I am formating it.

As for the USB issue, I tried with different cable, different pc, no response from the phone at all. It happened when once it ran out of battery and could not be charged from then on.

Re: HELP with flash back to sprint rom

I flash all the time with my 8gb card with no trouble. Just make sure of the following so you will have no trouble at all.

1. To be safe, download the .nbh file from your phone directly. I have found that if I flash through my card and do all the extracting (with Pocket RAR) and what not from my phone I have no trouble, it's from my computer where I seem to have the issues.

2. Make sure you name it RAPHIMG.nbh (all caps, and don't accidently put an extra ".nbh")

3. Move the .nbh file to the root of your storage card, nuff said there.

4. Volume down, power button then soft reset while still holding the volume down and power button and it should be self explanatory from there (follow onscreen instructions).

If I missed something here someone help out but if you are doing all of the above and still have issues it may be a defective card and you might need to try another (what about the 1gb you got with the phone?).

Mission Accomplished! Thanks for everybody for the help. I changed to the 1 GB Micro SD card came with the phone and it worked smoothly.
