Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

Yeah, 6.5 is definitely an improvement. Better scrolling and more touch friendly UI. You can use StarROM which has the rhodium TF3D on there. I personally like the new Home screen, which is what I've been using of the past week.

That pretty much sums it up. It is nothing groundbreaking by any means. Pretty much just another home screen alternative. I was a bit tired of TF3D, so I'm enjoying the change. I'll probably sport this until spbmobileshell 3 gets released, then after that, who knows...maybe back to TF3D again.

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

I know that touch flo 3d and wm 6.56 can coexist on the same device but does it make any sense for them to do so. In other words, i love tf3d and want to continue to use it, if i get wm6.5 will i notice a difference in using a devce that has both, like in the selection of programs or simply opening a file.

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

You'll just have the newer version of the start menu, that's pretty much it. The 6.5 default home plugin (CHome) can be disabled in start>settings>today>items just like tf3d can. Performance is pretty much the same. It does have an updated version of IE, but you can probably find that elsewhere if you don't want to use Opera.

you can still install TF3D2 in 6.5 i have it running right now! and it works great

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

I went from MightyMike's 4.16 to Copper . 6.5 is new and flashy, but I'm having hard time convincing myself that is WAY much better. People say its blazing fast and such, but IMO, MightyMike' 4.16 ROM is fast as well. Considering the daily activities I use my phone for, 6.5 didn't really offer much to make usability easier. Its actually harder cause you have to get used to its differences and find ways to do things quicker like you did in the previous ROM you were using.

I have not been able to find out a way to configure my TF3D on 6.5 ( I tried Starmans too) the way I had it on 6.1 . The Diamond TF3D Config did not work on Starman's ROM. One area I do notice 6.5 is faster on is clicking on Start, Settings. But in all honesty, how many times a week would I be accessing my Settings menu? Whatever settings I change are accessible from TF3D ( Turning On and OFF bluetooth and WI-FI) . If anyone else would like to point out what is faster in 6.5 than 6.1 please do so. Without pulling out my nanosecond stop watch, I do not see a huge speed increase in 6.5

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

I think one thing that causes people to think the 6.5 ROM's are so fast is that a lot of them, like the new Mighty/Juicy ROM do not have Manila installed. Without all of those manila files, some things are inevitably going to be faster. Once manila is added back in (if you do), the speed of the 6.5 may still be faster than 6.1, but not as dramatically so. Personally, I like 6.5 and am going to stick with it, and it is still beta, so more improvements will come as well.

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

So no one has a compelling, under the hood reason to run 6.5? From what I've played with on the Vogue and the TP, its just a gui upgrade. Since I already had a blazing fast 6.1 rom, I thought it was a waste of trying it.
