First off. I apologize if I offend you, but maybe you need to be offended.

I probably shouldn't even have looked in this thread cuz they are all opinion based and end up sounding like every other opinion biased, perspective based dribble that all fan boys churn out about what they like more. xbox 360 vs PS3, Mac vs PC, XP vs Vista, Vista vs Windows 7, Now 6.1 vs 6.5? I came here to post my experience with 6.5 and share my opinion but end up infuriated. Has anyone else noticed that most of the people that are impressed with 6.5 are cooking their own roms ? Not that I am not amazed by what the chefs put out, how much work goes into it , and how popular it becomes, but giving an opinion on wm6.5 based on someone elses rom is like giving an opinion on a Honda concept car based on someone else's body kit or tuning shop. This is what a chef does he takes the stock car and builds it to his preference. When you cook a rom you find out very fast that certain things don't play well with others. It takes a lot of hours of experimentation and bug tracking to get your "upgrades" to not break other dependent processes. You also have to plan whether you want a shiny show car, a drag car, or a top speed car. Those who have an opinion of Juicy,Mike or any other persons roms should ask Juicy or Mike what they really think of 6.5 and "is it fast, is it stable, or is it pretty. I am not saying that those roms aren't good or if your not a chef your opinion doesn't matter. I'm just saying it needs to be put into perspective. Those who have been around cooking since wm5 remember all the same grumbles with 6.0 and then 6.1. I can't count how many cabs or oems would no longer install on 6.1 and once they did install how long it took to trace what oems broke other oems etc. It was a different time back then..everyone here who was running 6.1 was cooking his own thanks to Helmi Imcokeman and all the other GIANTS who spent countless sleepless days contributing to the kitchen. Because of them we all had an opinon of our own rom vs M$ stock rom. Thanks to ConFlipper and Drellisdee I now finally have a 6.5 kitchen running and building 6.5 roms. These roms have been very stable very fast and moderately shiny. Comparing this base rom to the wm6.1 base rom I can say its a huge improvement in speed and stability. Touch scrolling is smoother, more accurate and more responsive, throughout the entire system. Bluetooth has worked flawlessly without tweaks. The new IE is a vast improvement and if it did tabbed browsing I would need no other. The new device lock is real slick, especially when notifications come through. Battery life is nothing short of amazing. People also need to remember we are comparing OS to OS. No matter what the OS we can always install and tweak whatever we want. That's why most of us are using winmo. Remember S2U2 , TCPMP, Flash video bundle, TouchFlo etc were all developed because a lack of functionality of the Core OS. If WMP did everything we wanted it to there would be no need for TCPMP or any of the HTC media appz. Now if they release a new version of WMP that does all those things with no need for a 3rd party app and all I said was "well that's just a cosmetic improvement" then I'd be a USDA Prime Choice Douche Wand. I can still use S2U2,TCPMP,TF3D2,Cube, if I choose. The fact is the core OS does alot of things better than it did before and almost as good as most of the add ons I was using in 6.1. I tried two other peoples 6.5 roms before I got my kitchen running and I hated them both, too buggy, too slow, and too shiny. IMHO wm6.5 base is very stable especially for a beta. Much like Vista vs Win7 beta If you use it for longer than 5 min you know its not just a cosmetic upgrade. I will know more when I have a full complete wm6.5 WWE stock rom which has not been leaked yet. (from my understanding they are all ported from a leaked beta chinese rom) Rant Complete

Calling all Giants and Chefs here and at XDA, Thank you ALL!! If more people would attempt to cook their own roms they might see the ignorance in their constant demands for this or that bit of kit and this community might return to the respectful learning process it once was. I admittedly have been cooking quietly for years but have yet to release a public rom. Every rom I cook is chock full of retail apps the mods would not appreciate me posting and I believe the user should skin everything the way he wants. Once I strip these from my roms you have a skinless base that noone would want and I am not able to offer support for. I try to contribute where I can and spend twice as many hours teaching my local friends how to do what you've taught me here. Thank you, NK2BP
Man you need to get a life.
After reading the last rant and now this, its getting kind of old. The thread was set up to give opinions on whether people thought it was worth using 6.5 at this moment and from that people have given opinions. Whether they have fully tested 6.5, or just looked at the pretty pictures of it doesn't really matter. I don't think anyone here in any way thinks badly of the creators of the ROMs, quite the reverse, I for one hold them in awe of doing things that MS can't get right with all of their resources, but that's not what this thread is about.
Can't you accept that people see things differently dependant on their own experiences?
I commented on my experience with 6.5 earlier in the thread and I can honestly say that I did not see any speed improvement over the ROM I am currently using, now whether that is due to the ROM, my phone, the software I use, me....I don't know, my opinion was based on my experience with a beta (alpha!) software and that's what the creator of this thread was asking about.
Chill out dude, let's read and learn in peace.

This is a bit ironic because 6.5 is really lean compared to any system with TF3D. I would actually think that TF3D is more fluff compared to 6.5 because it is so huge and takes up alot of resources.

Copper is great! Other ROMS are great too, and I've tried a number of them, but I've taken this to my liking a lot more than the others. Surprisingly stabe too. For anyone thinking about, give it a try... what do you really have to lose?!

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

the more i use 6.5/titanium the more i am liking it. the small changes that have been made with 6.5 are very well done in my opinion. i was somewhat late i guess to jump on the 6.5 train but the last few days i have really been loving it. i know this thread has kinda veered off the original intent. but to anser the original question, at this point imo it is worth it.

Thanks

Re: WM 6.5 Is it worth it?

After using Star Rom which has the latest 6.5 and Manilla3D2, TFLO uses more resources but it also does alot more. Once you get past the new, nice and shiny aspect, you go right back to TFLO. It's a major improvement over 6.1 without TFLO, that's about it.

Personally I think the combination of TFLO (Manilla2) with 6.5's interface changes is the best way to go, hands down!!!

Copper does, Phantom doesn't, there is a rom on xda using yoda dialer, can't speak for the rest. I run copper, installed Juggalo's Opal White slider, and it works almost perfectly with the exception of an incompatibility with the new lock screen. Thus, for now I've stopped using the native lock screen which is a shame because I really dig it. Back to s2u2 for now...

WM 6.5 is definitely worth it!
