Screen Will Not Turn Off The First Time?

After using the phone ( texting / talking / web / etc.) I cannot get the screen to shut off the first time when pressing the "screen off" / power button on the top of the phone. I press it once and the screen goes out for 2 seconds and the screen comes back on then I have to press the button again for it to turn the screen off. It worked on every other rom I've had but now I'm on a legendary "Juicy" rom that is perfect in every other way. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting that I'm missing? BTW, I searched and searched and could find nothing on this particular problem. TIA!
