touch wheel=touchpad?

im not one for programing, but what would be the chances of using the "touchwheel" as a touchpad.

you would put your finger in the center button, and slowly push the direction you want, this would then translate to a "mouse" like movment, not sure if you would want to make a pointer but its a possibility or just have it quickly select the sector you looking for. Im not sure if the wheel is sensitive enough for this action but frankly its never used due to the lack of support.

if someone would let me know if this would work, or if its a viable project, or where i can "look" at where the wheel sends its input
