Re: Issues with Exchange and the new TP2 ROMS?

Then I don't know! I'm trying to figure out what is different between my TP and everyone else's. I'm on Verizon (gimped phone) but I've hard reset and the phone has nothing different than is on the MightyRom.

I'm almost out of ideas....

Lots of ways to configure Exchange and mobile access. It could be that your server is trying to push a little more than email to your device causing your problems. Have another tp user try your server....if possible.

i will say that i've been using my touch pro since release day with no probs, with custom roms. just started happening when i tried my first tp2 rom, juicy 3/22. i will try a few others today, and i will also reset the user mobile options on exchange 2007, i have noticed this has had to be done with some palm users, and mogul users when i first migrated from exchange 03 to exchange 07

also, from what i have seen, how come new mail accounts don't auto search for autodiscovery settings in this new version? seems like a step backwards

I am using Juicy's latest (TF3D 2) connected to Exchange 2003 and it works fine.

My Exchange service is pushing Email, contacts and calendar to my TP. It has always worked flawlessly previous to the TP2 ROMs. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who has a TP (they are all iPhone users!!!).

Anyway I will test again today when I get a chance but I'm starting to believe this isn't an issue with the ROMs but with something deeper in the code of the TP2 port. I hope I will figure something out as I really like what I've seen of the new Manila.

So far the MightyROM has performed the best. It actually synchrinized with the exchange server - the others didn't even manage that!

what i meant by more than mail is not the content itself such as mail, cal, tasks or contacts. you can push a variety of other gpo like policies out too. it's possibly that some of these new roms with tp2 ports aren't quite up to par with knowing how to handle this type of information. for instance my company in an exchange 2007 cluster we push quite a bit of security policy out before we push content. in a couple of cases i was not able to connect with some of the very early tp roms several months ago. it's been fine since and i would expect that soon enough tp2 ports will be fully functional too. personally after testing the last three or four rounds of everyone's tp2 roms i went back. all of them were way to buggy for me. i'm a heavy user of the full feature set of windows mobile and i would not consider myself an average user however. at this time i am going to wait about a month before i play again.

Re: Issues with Exchange and the new TP2 ROMS?

I decided to try lllboredlll's new TP2 ROM and managed to get touchflo3d to work with exchange. It turned out that if I changed my exchange settings to only sync email and calendar (not contacts) it does not crash! It seems something about the way contacts are sent via exchange (maybe a security thing by my company) was causing it to crash.

So I synchronized my contacts manually (via my PC) and let exchange do the rest - a work around certainly... but enough to let me try out the new ROM properly.
