Re: Custom ROMS causing keyboard issues?

I guess I can consider myself one of the lucky few around here. I've been flashing my phone sice Mighty 4.09 and I have not had any issues. I am currently running Mighty 4.15 as of yesterday on sprint. Also, I am posting this from my TP.The phone I have is new and never had change it since January. One thing I always do aftter flashing is do another hard reset just in case something merges from the last ROM.

I have noticed this after flashing to a 6.5 ROM then downgrading back to stock Alltel ROM. It will type and then all of a sudden the TP freezes and then it will repeat the last key i pressed like 5 times sometimes i have to slide it closed and open again to get it to work.

I'm thinking while a significant number of people have had issues, most must not. Or the outcry even in the actual ROM threads would be high.

I've only had it once so far and a soft reset resolved it, hoping not to experience it again.

I guess I just hope this is somehow resolved for everyone.

I flashed a friends pro to mighty ROM (i think, i did 6 diff flashes on another phone that day too...) and the keyboard stopped working when he was chasing someone down(hes a police officer) lol...

Re: Custom ROMS causing keyboard issues?

I worked through this issue after fighting it all day yesterday -

This issue stemmed from the installation of Might 4.15, and required hard reboot after 1-2 emails or texts.

Finally, after installing several other ROMs, thinking the image had become corrupt, I landed on Sceptre Rom 2.0. I played around for a bit with it, and the keyboard kicked back in perfectly.

Now I am running the most recent build of Juicy 5.0, without a single issue.

Not sure if this is the same thing, but all the hard keys on my TP stopped working...keyboard, volume, etc. Everything was back to normal after doing a soft reset (stylus to reset button).

Mighty ROM has been fantastic. It replaced a horrible experience with another "kaotic" ROM.

I've been complaining about for the last 2 weeks! Glad this thread WAS STARTED!! Thought I was the only one with this STUPID A$$$ ISSUE. Happened when I started flashing Mighty roms! But I love Mighty roms to be honest!

Re: Custom ROMS causing keyboard issues?

I've had it happen to 3 touch pro's now, one stuck, 2 custom roms. I exchanged the first one and it started doing it after a week.

I decided to chance removing the keyboard and sure enough, on both phones the cable had come loose. I popped it back on and did the same to the other phone. Both phones work just fine now.

It takes a T6 torx bit to remove the screws behind the battery cover, then you can pry the keyboard up out of the case. If I feel motivated enough I may take pics later to make it clearer. I know there's a post around page 3 somewhere that has a pic too.
