Re: Building my First ROM !!
Not trying to change the version of the CE OS, just add to it
(e.g. most of the chefs add their handle to the following on the Settings -> About page) Example: CE OS 5.2.21018 (Build 21018.1.6.0 'chef name') As a way of personalizing their work. wanted to know how to do the same |

Re: Building my First ROM !!
Okay, it tool me a while to write.
I will just like to say that indagroove and Calcu showed me how to do this, I just made a more detailed tutorial. 1. Open up your kitchen. 2. Go to ROM folder, look for the file called "OS.nb.payload" 3. Copy that file to os.nb.payload folder located in my tools folder. 4. Now open up the CMd from kitchen Select Port over XIP then XIPPorterEX 5. Its going to open up a program, click on [Extract from .payload] Then close that program. 6. Go to my tools folder - xip.bin_old folder. In there copy the xip.bin to the kitchens main root. 7. open up the CMD from kitchen again. Click on port over XIP. Select XIPPort2. 8. Click on dump xip.bin, a new folder will appear on the main kitchen's root. it will be called "OUT" 9. Go into that folder select Files, Look for a file called "boot_ms.rgu" 10. Open it with notepad. All the way in the botton you will see "Aku"=" by ***** just edit it and put your name there then save it. 11. Close notepad and then realloc P then write maps, then build xip_out.bin 12.You will have a new file called "xip_out.bin" on the kitchen, copy it to My tools- XIP_new_ported folder 13. Now delete all the files that were made in the kitchen roots, which are "out folder, xip.bin, and xip_out.bin" Only erase the once that are on the main page from the kitchen!! 14. Now go to the kitchen's CMD and select insert XIp into ROM, then select which ever phone you have, in my case it will be Insert XIP into Diamond ROM 15. Make a ROM folder. It will open a program, when the program opens you will see "payload folder then ..., click on .... and locate where you put the os.nb.payload file from step 3 15. Do the same thing with NEW Xip Folder but locate xip_out.bin from step 12 16. Now click Port it. 17. Click on Find Start XIP offset, then Write it. 18. Still using that program, go to ROM tools, Click write then Done. 19. Close the program, the kitchen's CMD will do something, don't press anything. After that is done it will say "ROM folder was created.......... Press any key to continue.... 20. You can now close that, you will see in the main kitchen there will be a ROM and a ROM.old folder. Just delete the ROM.old folder and your done. :> If you have any problems with this just tell me and I'll help you out. |
