GPS Died?

Once GPS is unlocked on a VZW TP, is it forever unlocked? That is, if I unlock GPS, then flash to another ROM later, is it possible I could hose it again? It's been working since Bored got it working, and now, I've updated my phone and can't seem to get it working again.
