Re: Windows Mobile 6.0 (WM6.0) on Touch Pro
haha... I am using Topproducer which isn't 6.1 Compat, and they haven't been updated to 6.1 yet... no ETA... and I can't wait...
They use Vaultus J9 JVM which doesn't work on WM6.1, it keeps on crashing.. here is the CAB FILE if you wanted to check it out. Last edited by jax2k3; 12-08-2008 at 08:27 PM. |

thought about that, sadly, same thing would happen if you install on QVGA... just the java doesn't open on 6.1..

Re: Windows Mobile 6.0 (WM6.0) on Touch Pro
I had P4000 (mogul) and was QVGA, and would give the same program... would crash...
so don't think it is the video drivers or VGA issue... but to make sure, have WM6.0 installed on Touch Pro, then we can see |

Re: Windows Mobile 6.0 (WM6.0) on Touch Pro
There was a profound reason WM5.0 was ported to the Mogul: The Mogul's RAM was incredibly limited, and it was originally built around the lower requirements of WM5.0. Installing WM5.0 allowed it to perform much faster and more reliably in the manner the hardware was designed for. It gave less memory errors and ran a lot more smoothly.
WM6.0 provides no such advantages over 6.1. 6.1 runs more smoothly and more reliably while improving functionality. So I don't expect to see any big pushes to switch over. Out of curiosity, did you try any of the early builds of 6.1 on your Titan, or did you wait for the official release? Because the later official one was the one that seemed to break a bunch of apps. Earlier ones had no real compatibility issues. Just kind of curious. But yes, unfortunately, replacing the apps is the only logical solution as nobody's going to invest time in downgrading to 6.0 on this phone. |
