Re: [ROM] [Apr 29] JUICY 7 - Build 090429H (21501.5.0.70) [UC] *Rhodium Manila*

I installed tsowen's taskbar 6v3.1...and everything work fine except for the "service signal" icon, no bars show up. It looks like I have no signal, but when i click the taskbar to see new notifications etc. it says I have full signal. I even tried installing the "lite" version of the taskbar and I have the same problem. Is this just me? Or does anyone know of a solution.

Thanks in advance for any info.

It's been talked about a bit:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/search.php?searchid=6125366

try that It's just searching the last 2weeks of this thread for "push*"
In Juicy7 sprintTVbeta, he set all the default schedules to "never", but I still have to refresh... back when he first got it working I refered to it as being like "saved pages" that you could easily bookmark.
Thats what I'm using the "never" schedule for all of them except for a couple search pages like mDog's mobile IMDB search engine and the artists category of my m.mp3tunes.com account.

This is the same thing that happened to me. I think the taskbar has a problem finding the cache/file linking to the signal bars. This happened to me on a Sprint Touch Pro. However, I installed it on my friend's AT&T Fuze and he did not get the problem. All I can tell you is that you'll need to unistall that one or find another one.

p.s. - Do you have a Sprint Touch Pro? If you do, the problem might be linked to the radio.

phew... so I've been struggling with some problems in my new kitchen for the past week and a half only to find out Vista had ****ed up the file indexing within the kitchen. I can't even begin to explain how much time I've wasted trying to resolve this issue.

Rest assured, I can focus on the good stuff now.

I'm working on something special for Manila and not quite sure if it will pan out, but it would be exclusive to this ROM.

Same thing happened to me.
It used to be that it displayed correctly if you changed the reg so it would display 7-bar signal.
I think the 6.5 dll is a bit different so the 7-bar signal fix hasn't been working for me. Honestly, the new Icons have grown on me :)

It makes sense that this would help me considering the newer filesystem that this build has been using... you know, where it ear-marks common processes.
Anyway, this is helping me out and now it doesn't remind me of my Mogul and having to soft reset frequently throughout the day.

almost forgot to add that I have dci_battery, g-alarm and map clock to g-alarm which all have links in the startup folder.

as far as page pool goes, will speeds increase if i lower or increase my page pool from 16MB. i really don't do much on my phone except use the internet...alot. increasing the speed of touch flo and typing with the hard keyboard is most important to me.

It really depends on
-ROM
-RAM size & utilization
-What you use the phone for the most

The thing I saw it compared to that was easiest to understand was the "pagefile" on a desktop PC.
Good info:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ename=PagePool
"The larger the paging pool is, the more code pages can present in RAM simultaneously -> the less loads from slow ROM -> the faster the device is."
"The Page Pool is a mechanism to limit how much code is loaded into normal RAM. With a Page Pool, we can unload code that hasn't been used in a while and reload it later if we need to. We can't do that without a Page Pool."

For Example: Right now I have That xda wiki page and this ppcgeeks page open in OperaMobile and my ram is hovering ~138Mb. When I close Opera it will probably onlt recover RAM down to ~130Mb.

Which .dll does microsoft use? Tsowen still hasn't ported some of his icons so that's my project for today.

Also, I'm hoping for a new release from you soon. The messaging app in 21501 gets REALLY slow on long message threads. It's tough to say how many messages are in this thread, but I'd guess it got painfully slow around 100 messages, there's 300 or so now, and if I tap the thread, tmail.exe will choke on closing it for about 70-80 seconds (it will lock up the entire phone). Only workarounds are to not close the thread - which seems to make the phone lock up on the next text I get, and require a soft reset - or to keep the thread open for the required amount of time, which is approaching 2 minutes. It's just becoming quicker to soft reset the phone every time I get a text from her.

If for no other reason than to have an excuse to clear all of my texts, I really need to speed it up. I hope it's faster in 21222.

^ For anyone wondering what is UPX Compression and/or CFC Compression, they are basically designed to make files smaller. Thus will increase the speed of TouchFLO and/or other processes on our PPCs. I think it's great that Juicy will be deciding to include this in his next release. The CFC Compression might be how he fixed the random freezes in Manila seeing how Manila would have less to load which would = faster performance.

Hey Juicy,

I know you're always keeping up with the latest and greatest, so hopefully this will be adapted soon:

My friend just got the HTC Touch Diamond 2 (Topaz), and he has the v6.12 Camera application, which has touch focusing. Is it possible to implement that once it comes out? My guess would be that even if I didn't ask, you'd do it :p

Can't wait for the Topaz dialer to be ported as well :)

Seconded, have downloaded and installed the Voice Control CAB, and it appears in the personal setup options, but there does not appear to be any way to link the voice command to the phone dialing, unless I am somehow missing something...
