Ha, I know what you mean. The search works fairly well. I have personally started editing my response titles so it comes up in search results - sort of like tagging my responses.

Some people put TouchFLO, some TF, some TF3D, and others TF3D2. Heck, I went from saying 'Juicy 7' to just 'J7'. The thread length can be frustrating when you know you read about something earlier and yet it doesn't come up in the search results.

Still, everyone is great and cordial in the thread and typically a response is right around the corner. Heck, I have posted in the wrong thread and someone squared me away.

Gmail is working fine for me, but I install my settings via UC. If you dare to delve into UC, you can get a lot of setup automated. If you are willing to make a couple text files and then copy paste some text, then check out this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...057#post782057 to get started.

Summary:
All you will need to create is sdcconfig.txt and gmail.xml and place them on your sd-card.

Your sdconfig.txt will contain the following text:
Code:

XML:\Storage Card\gmail.xml
Your gmail.xml file will contain the following:
Code:

<wap-provisioningdoc>
<!-- *** Start Configuring Gmail IMAP *** -->
  <characteristic type="EMAIL2">
  <characteristic type="{2c431f22-e28f-4ac7-a876-3fb1b08b728c}">
    <parm name="SERVICENAME" value="Gmail" />
    <parm name="SERVICETYPE" value="IMAP4" />
    <parm name="INSERVER" value="imap.gmail.com" />
    <parm name="OUTSERVER" value="smtp.gmail.com" />
    <parm name="NAME" value="Your Name" />
    <parm name="REPLYADDR" value="" />
    <parm name="AUTHNAME" value="usernamel@gmail.com" />
    <parm name="AUTHSECRET" value="Password" />
    <parm name="DOMAIN" value="" />
    <parm name="AUTHREQUIRED" value="1" />
    <parm name="LINGER" value="60" />
    <parm name="RETRIEVE" value="-1" />
    <parm name="KEEPMAX" value="512" />
    <parm name="DWNDAY" value="3" />
        <parm name="SMTPALTENABLED" value="0" />
        <parm name="SMTPALTAUTHNAME" value="" />
        <parm name="SMTPALTPASSWORD" value="" />
        <parm name="SMTPALTDOMAIN" value="" />
  <characteristic type="TAGPROPS">
    <parm name="8128000B" value="1"/>
    <parm name="812C000B" value="1"/>
    </characteristic>
    </characteristic>
</characteristic>
<!-- *** End Configuring Gmail IMAP *** -->
</wap-provisioningdoc>

Of course, in the above after you copy and paste the above to your gmail.xml, you will need to change 3 values:
"NAME"
"AUTHNAME"
"AUTHSECRET"

Oh, and if you don't know how to create an xml file, how about this:
  1. You need to be able to see the entire file names to change extensions, so in a folder, click "Tools" --> "Folder Options..." --> "View" tab at the top --> Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types", press "Ok"
  2. Then, you create your two text documents "sdconfig.txt" and gmail.txt" by right clicking on empty space in a folder. "New" --> "Text Document"
  3. leave them as .txt files until you finish copy / pasting / editing, then
  4. change the .txt to .xml in the gmail file.
Have fun :drunken:

Just thought I would throw this out there for those of you who use your device to listen to music. There is a neat mod for the Music tab in TF3D2 over at XDA. I am currently running the latest Juicy 7 with the older Manila (which fixes many issues and runs REALLY well) so I can't attest to how it runs on Juicy's current Manila but for those of you who want to try. You can get it HERE.

So I have been having considerable problems with the latest build. To the point where my phone is more or less unusable. Would it be advisable to reflash a stock Sprint rom first before upgrading, when the next build comes out?

(If so where could I find a stock rom?)

Thanks in advance.

My replacement phone is patiently waiting to get Juiced...

Juicy I'm sure you are on top of it, but did you see the new Start button remapping drivers over at Da_G's XDA thread? Will they work for our CDMA version?

It is highly advised to flash a stock ROM before a custom build. I use to think this was rubbish, but I noticed more bugs and errors when not flashing stock first. Here is how I go about flashing and I have experienced no "bugs" with the ROM outside of the normal Rhodium Manila issues already mentioned.

1. Enter Bootloader
2. Flash Stock
-let customizations run
3. Enter Bootloader
4. Flash Custom
-let customizations run
5. Hard reset
-let customizations run

Might want to get that checked out, it sounds unrelated to wanting a new ROM :mrgreen:

I could really stand to see a new update, I'm yet to make it through a single day on the past two versions without soft resetting the phone more than 5-6 times due to lockups. It would be nice if it just ran :(

By the way, do anyone have a clue on what's needed to have the new flash version that is posted in the upgrade long to have flash working? I downloaded 16453 but can't get flash to work.

the only reason you would get this is if your phone is still locked.

I use to think the same thing. However, I noticed that after flashing a certain ROM (left un-named), weird bugs kept surfacing upon subsequent flashes until I flashed back to stock and proceeded with the steps mentioned above. One of the bugs in particular that I could not get rid of until doing this was the random partial hard-resets the device would do on its own. Since implementing this series of steps. It hasn't happened again. Overkill? Maybe. Do I still have to deal with annoying flashing related bugs and issues? NOPE!

The kitchen is done. I can confidently say it is better than anything else out there.

Sweet, simple and powerful... like DCD's stuff.

LMFAO! Hilarious!

I'm running this ROM on my TP and Diamond and can go days w/out a soft reset. There seems to be a small memory leak in TF3D2 which is the only reason I typically reset (and thats only if I'm running Manila). I'm sorry you're not having the same success.

Well, it may be worth a shot. I use to have the problem on my Diamond all the time when I started flashing 6.5 ROMs. Since flashing stock first, I haven't experienced it since. It may be a coincidence, but it seemed to work.

I have a question (which doesn't seem to get answered). How do I disable the wake up to the TouchFLO homescreen in JUICY's ROM? I would like to have it that if I had Opera running and I press the power button on my Touch Pro, that when I press it again Opera will autpmatically resume instead of it forcing to the TouchFLO interface.

-I know this problem is TouchFLO related because when I'm running on the Windows Default 6.5 Titanium homescreen, this doesn't happen. When I turn on my screen it is still on my last application I had running.

This is also what causes TF3D to not work with the 6.5 lock screen, which would be nice to have, also. I'd like to see this disabled as well, if at all possible!
