I want to try juicy's latest, but the activesync issue is a deal breaker for me. I've been happy with the 5.25 build so can't wait to check out the speed and battery life gains.

I've had the same text issue since switching to 6.5. I restored ~2500 texts and I noticed on my longer threads, they would freeze when closing them. 6.1 never had this issue.

When I cleared all of my texts, the problem went away. When I got some threads back in the 300-400 message range per thread, the issue showed up in a big way again.

I think I got it...this will revert to the older version of manila2. You can now call out from Manila and people tab works like it used to.

This breaks the SMS tab, but that can be fixed by installing the 4-HTC-New-Contact-Card cab.

1. Disable TF3D
2. Install Manila2 Older Version_compressed
3. Install 4-HTC-Contact-Card
4. Soft reset
5. Enable TF3D

EDIT: Verified that the compressed cab works fine. Uncompressed has been removed. I've been using this all day and the only issue I've found is the sms crash, but that is easily fixed.

quick question, can i use the tip above (post # 3831) to revert the dialer to the manilla2 older version? I used it on the previous update and it worked great. Will this fix continue to work until the new dialer is up and running?

Thanks for your help...

ok, tried to flash 3 times to this...i used the kitchen.

the first time i could not even get my phone to the standard homescreen, it was just blank..(it did boot and i had a taskbar).yet items were checked in the today settings.

second flash the phone was slow as heck...took almost 30 min for the customizations to run, and phone took forever to do anything.

third flash the same problem happened, the phone took almost 15 min to send one text message, the screen presses and typing on the keyboard were about 30 seconds delayed.

I re downloaded the kitchen after the second flash. i added or deleted nothing from the kitchen. no extra programs or anything. i hard reset after each flash, as always.

is there something im missing to get this working?

I tried this fix on Sunday and it seems to be working well.

My phone froze in the text app again and then after a soft reset it went into a hard reset. Ill be back when 6.5 is more stable.

I suggest flashing the stand-alone ROM before parting ways with 6.5 because this is the most stable ROM series I've ever used.
I just tried several Geocaching/GPS programs and they installed & uninstalled with no ill effect. That was a real suprise to me.

Love the new ROM, however how do I get Opera to be the default brower like the last build, when clicking email links IE launches.

Thanks

I did use the kitchen, added a few extra modules to the kitchen, I also did the OEMDrivers using the spinlock patch. Flashed with a 20 MB PagePool, hardreset after flash.

I am under 24 hours but, I haven't seen the slowdowns that I have seen in the past. Myphone sync'ed about 2000 messages and it was slow for that time. My assumptions would be the myphone had a greater process priority.
I also on occasion drop down to the WinMo 6.5 titanic interface and have some add-ons.

I am really, really impressed with what Juicy has done with this ROM and the progress that he has made with 6.5. I believe he pushes the envelope for updates. The kitchen in my mind is EPIC! What I can't drop in the kitchen, I can use sdconfig.txt, and eventually, skript out with SASHIMI, so I can flash like Pee Wee Herman in a trench coat.

Haha @SnoopDawg.
And your profile tag says n00b, how misleading lol.

osmany21- your profile tag and your signiture don't say what carrier you are using.
Help us help you :)

If you are on Verizon you need to set your pagepool down at like 6-8MB whereas the other TouchPros have more memory and can leave it at default or higher. That sounds like whats going on with your ROM but I could be way off.
