Verizon Stock Rom Running out of memory?

Hey guys, ive recently gone up to an HTC Touch pro and this phone is great in almost every single way except for 1 thing. The memory. I know the verizon version is crippled and i know that it sucks but its all ive got. My biggest problem is that it appears the phone is leaking memory BAD. Every day i use it the more memory i appear to be eating up even though im not running any applications. For example...

I am currently running at 96% Ram with NO applications opened i do a hard reset with the little button by the USB port and im back to about 60% plus or minus 5%. Clearly the ROM or the OS is leaking memory BAD. Are there ANY roms that resolve this issue? if so are there any that are practically free of junk? i just want the applications that the phone comes with minus maybe the verizon apps since i'd like to load my own Apps onto the phone.
