All the buffers are not pre-allocated in the OS. Only as you use various features are services started, buffers allocated, etc. Once it reaches 80-85% (for you, for me on sprint 50%) it will stabilize and grow no more.

The 88MB *less* ram that the VZ version has is a fatal flaw (or would be for me, my sprint version has about 90MB free after I've loaded everything up. That would be about 2mb on your VZ unit. That's not good. )

Get rid of TF3D and phone skin . lower PP . You should get +20mb

Every other TP except Verizon has a 256MB RAM chip...we have a 128MB chip (then there is on processor chip RAM that brings the totals to 288 and 192 respectively, but that's a different story that I don't think anyone fully understands).

So basically we have half the RAM.

I have not used Mighty's ROM, so he may or may not have included a page pool changer with it. A page pool is kind of like the pagefile on your desktop PC. What this number does is reserve that RAM for system use that can make the phone run faster...but if you have less RAM you need it to be lower. Most non-VZW people generally use 24-32MB. For VZW, 12MB seems to be a nice number. Ask in Mighty's thread if there is a changer included.

I personally would suggest trying Scott Crosler's SSK ROM (Link is in my sig). He optimizes it for Verizon and sets it to a 12MB page pool by default. I can guarantee you will find your phone very usable with a good amount of free RAM (50MB at least) after installing his ROM.

Im tempted to do it like... now...

Just a big question... do you have a preferred method of flashing this phone? Because thats my biggest question. Ive flashed other stuff but never a phone.

Just remember to unlock first (sticky at the top of this forum)

Then flash the ROM, and hard reset after you have finished flashing (Hold in the center dpad, press reset, and keep holding the dpad untill instructions display on screen).

And I would just ask in his thread if you have any questions...we're quite noob friendly over there....SSK stands for Scott's Simple Kitchen....trying to keep it simple!

He's added some different versions recently...I would recommend the "CE OS 20764 - Built SSK 1.5M - R4R Bonus ROM" to start with. It should be the most stable and standard. Once you are comfortable with that you can try others. Download links are here:

I ran into this problem as well with my verizon touch pro but I ended up using bored's rom at: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=53527

It'll give you like 55MB's free ram after boot with tf3d

Do these ROMs like the SSK ROM have Radios built in?

Also after Running Raphael_VZW_HSPL_035 it wont enter boot loader.

It keeps going between sound and shutting down....

Very Nice! 62% Memory w/ tf3d enabled. i will see what that rises to after i use it today.
