Tonight Scott said something about another Beta but lets see about tonight and see if this one is stable enough for us and then he can make a final version of the rom. Here's hoping

What do you see as not stable? I thought it was very stable.

Amen. Some of the people here are forgetting that even themselves were noobs at one point or another and probably asked the "simple" questions. The mixture of having really skilled/experienced people with people just starting to learn, is what makes this site flourish and grow. Even the "experts" on here were all at a spot like we were....once.

So next time one of you guys wants to complain or put down a noob on here, remember how YOU were when you first started riding your bike.

I really think that you guys mis-interpreted what Impudent was saying. Even though the name "Impudent" sounds "cranky", impatient, etc. I'm sure he wasn't saying we'd avoid Noob's, but if Scott went to a more complicated kitchen (as he proposed), the complications of a more "detailed" kitchen makes answering noob questions more difficult. First you have to figure out the problem....then probably go thru multiple steps to correct it. With all the complications and problems, very probably some of our loyal users
a) wouldn't know how to answer the question and
b)might not have the time to spend solving the problem.

I don't think there is anyone here who wouldn't help a Noob, but a more complicated kitchen (instead of the SSK) would limit the responses to the few who are really knowledgable......and that let's me out of that category. I can answer "simple" questions.....but in a kitchen that goes to the core...I'm lost.
For example....a simple noob question about an important ingredient....What's an XIP and how do I change it????.....I don't have the answer.
Even though we want to help, I think that he was on the mark in that the available help would be limited.

I think that's what he was trying to say.

Bob

Good to point that out. I didin trealize that. I must have used the Dimaond Cam instead of TP CAM forgetting they are differnt.

Overall I think this ROM is fairly stable.

I was going to look at the mem card issu but decided to wait. IM going to resplit the OEM's again and try something differnt this time.

I would like to thank everyone who tried the beta. I will leave it up until I make some changes. I need to attack some core fuinctionality with the dialer and some other minor tweaks.....

Overal, how is the selction of OEM's for the kitchen? Good mix? I was shooting for a mix of everything.

Thanks again for all the feedback....

I think it is VERY stable. I see no major problems with it as is. I am not using the HD as I dont use those tabs anyway, and the weather cities are fine on the R4R. Only issue that I have found is the Internal Storage opposed to Stogage Card and the flash on the camera. Battery life seems to be incredible!! I didnt set-up my email account though, and it usually updates every 10 minutes, so that could be the reason for the major increase in battery. I really dont know how much that affects the battery.

Please let me know if this post doesn't belong here. I read that Windows Media Player Mobile is supposed to play W4A files from but they won't play no matter what version of the OS I use to build the ROM with SSK.

Is there a way to get a newer version of WMP that will play W4A files?

I think impudent is correct in his statement.

Does anybody remember how many times we were quiestioned about how to cook with the new kitchen when Scott went to the current modular setup?

The siimpler it is the better but I am not saying that is should be so simple a caveman can do it!

The current setup is a nice balance for noobs and daily flashers alike.

Scott, keep on rockin baby!

Ahhhh the delicate sound of silence.

if only solving the worlds problems were as easy as building a ROM, the world would be such a happy place ;)

Ron, and Bob, thanks for articulating the point I was trying to make. Sometimes I just assume people know me well enough to know what I mean.

Great catch on the camera flash, I should have known that would be an issue since the diamond doesn't have the light. I tried Htorch after reading that post. Htorch is possibly my favorite app when I need it.

Did you happen to notice the advanced capture modes on the camera? 21159 had probably the most responsive camera (less focus time, quicker pics) but this is sweet.
