What do you all want added to the kit? OEM's, not gonna d a lot of them as it detracts from the simplified approach.

I will however make splash screens selectabel
and today screens selectable.

Since you asked, I will chime in my 2 cents. Having tried a few other ROMs and yours on the VZW Touch Pro, I believe there are 3 things which makes your ROM distinctive and better for us VZW users:

1. Better RAM utilization and speed given our device limitations.
2. SSK 1.2. Your simple kitchen is superior. It allows everyone to customize their device ROM down to the application level. This is amazingly attractive compared to other fixed ROMs
3. SSK Online. While currently limited in scope, the possibilities for documentation, Wiki, and especially CAB "library" are endless.

So for future releases, I would like you to build on these strengths as possible. Give us VZW users all the RAM and speed possible. For SSK beyond 1.2, I dream of being able to cook in any CAB I want (like iContact used to be cooked in) instead of tacking them on via SD autorun. For SSK online, I would wish for more info and apps, and less TF3D style changes.

Anyway, thats just one NOOb's dream. As always, I am grateful for all your efforts on all of our behalves.

You ASKED for it: Here are my desires:
1)More detail on the different OEM files, including maybe a screen shot from them...When I look at the list, I may not know what each does...a brief descrip and pic would really cut down research time. Descriptions for other items help too...Take the HTC Keyboard...is that the hardware keyboard, all of their onscreen keyboards or just some of them? Answers can be found, but time-consuming research is required. Another goodie is the TWSON (?) icons. He has so many, good idea to show pic of the ones you use.
2) Make it so AutoRun would add cab to the SD card...and leave more memory. In the kitchen, if you had two check boxes next to each OEM...The first for ROM install, the 2nd for AutoRun Install ( could just say SD card Install)
3) SecondToday - in the OEM Pack Good option for a combination of TF3D Home and a "Real Today Screen" so you can alternate between the two.
4) Include more Sensor Apps in the OEM category
5) There is are a couple of apps that put a narrow strip at the very top for battery level....One is TBattery, and the Other is Batti.....I think it's nice to visually be able to see the level, even from across the desk).
6) Maybe make a cab for that little app that I pointed people to for changing Default Browsers
7) Maybe some lines or a special page in Settings that would identify which ROM of yours I'm using, and the items that I burned into that ROM.
On the different web pages and PPC Geeks Posting Pages...identify the OS Rev no and build number associate with each revision....I know that it's there for 1.2, but finding out what the build for 1.1 or Nav 3.0 is not an easy task and you keep wanting us to re-flash with better stuff. Having those items on a list would make life simpler.
9) Put a link on the www.crosler.com to the SSK Mobile, and also to the old archived folders of SSK 1.1 and Nav 3.0. Having a link is so much simpler than searching thru long lists.
10) Battlog might be another good utility for measuring short term current draw. Including that would allow you to look at how the current draw changes when you start/stop different programs. For Long Term Battery Drain, I use Pocket Battery Analyzer ($), and I don't know of a free one, but it would be nice if we can find one.

Well, I guess that's enough for one nite (won't you be glad when you get your phone back and can get to some real "fun" work?

No these are great suggestions... I dont think you would realize the amount of work involved to accomplish all of this... I may delve into some of these but one thing I woudl have to say no to right off the bat is linking the Mobile site to main site.

Thats a caveat for ROM users. Sort of a protection mech.

No way will I keep old ROM's linked as well. People would be killing me in the threads with old ROM's old bugs, etc. Things would get ugly quick! Trust me on this one.

as far as screening up the OEM's... Go ahead and get started... I will certainly appreciate any help you have.

Sensor apps? are there more? Examples please?

AS far as branding. Trust me it is. On teh boot screen youshoudl see the branding in lower rigth hand corner.

I have no control over SD autoRUn. I do however know of a way to acomplish what you are asking... In thoery any way... I will explore that next rev....

One thing I think you are missing and that is the simplicity factor. I dont like a bunch of OEM's and many users agreed and thank me for the simplicity. You should go to the PPC Kitchen and use there OEM's. They have TONS of them and 99% of them should be plug and play with my kitchen. Just drop them in the OEM folder. very easy. Let me know if you want more detail.

Secondly on OEM's: They are just a 10 second process to make. I would be glad to explain how ifyoua re interested. This way you can make the kitchen to youtr likings... Its no hard. Let me know if you want some schooling on this as well.

I also stopped using twsoens work... Much better to cab in thest hings.

But yeah, I have always wanted to do the screenshot thing. Just time consuming.. Any hlep is alway a good thing...

For example, you could screen up some, i cuold a couple other guys as well. Then post them to my site under a kitchen selections page? Maybe even a full blown description and some screenies... Hmmm.. very doable... hmmm...

No, thanks for this feedback. I do have to admit I am poor documenter... I assume everyone knows what the HTC keyboard is vs a standard keyboard. But I do get your drift.

I will ponder what you suggest... I like the ideas but putting it into action all by my lonesome... thats gonna be hard... AND even more time consuming than the 100's of hours I have into already.

I dont know if you noticed but I have been stepping up the ability of the ROM and kitchen step by step. I may not include all your suggestions as I like to get them ther ROM's out quick but over tim eyou will see alot of what you suiggested incorporated.

Just one last thing... To me a ROM / Kitchen is about user customizations which is why I am not so keen on the suggestion of adding more OEM's. I will search around for f ew but some direct links ot he OME for sensor apps woudl help alot ;c)

OK, so.....for next ROM/Kitchen
1. You solder in more memory
2. FM Radio working
J/K man
-I think what we have now is very good. SSK Online could use more apps and a facial.
-Splash screens are nice, but not seen very often
-A MUST(which I know you have already said would happen) is lllboredlll's name in Location Settings.
-I think a good cab for SSK Online would be the "no curtains" cab(one of my favorites!!)
-Obviously anything you can do to speed and memory will be GREATLY appreciated

I'll think of more later. Time for sleep now, hope I made since, dosed off a min while typing......
