In the VZN ROM, power hold worked to shut it off as well as the power off button in ShutXP. But on SSK and bored's ROM, it does not...maybe a bug with some newer files they are using CE OS build or something..I don't know. |

EDIT: and by the "Shut Off" button... i mean the one in psShutXP, next to the "Soft Reset" button. not the actual phones power button, i like that mapped to psShutXP. (just re-read that and realized it sounded funny) Last edited by phattooth; 01-26-2009 at 05:18 PM. |

On any ROM, pressing without holding the power key will turn the screen off like it should, no problems there. On the VZNav roms (didn't use 3.0, prior versions) Everything worked fine. Default behavior was hold power for Windows prompt to shut off, it worked. Installing ShutXP and using that power off method worked. SSK and Bored ROMs: Default, (no ShutXP), hold power button, nothing happens ever unless I install that CAB or ShutXP. With ShutXP, holding the power button causes ShutXP to come up like it should. Pressing Power Off causes the screen to turn off, not the device. Soft Reset and all other ShutXP fuctions work fine. My point is I think Bored and Scott shared a lot of the same base files (SYS XIP whatever I don't know enough about the details) and there is probably some common issue there...maybe it's a CE OS bug with that newer build, I don't know. Just offering what I have experienced. |

The big thing I noticed was, that even before ShutXP was even installed, the phone failed to shut down when holding the power button. You know when you hold it down, and get the yes/no windows dialog? Nothing happened at all. And this happened to me on the SSK and bored ROMs both, but not with stock nor VZNav 2 or so. |
