Phat is right. Even with a Hard Reset you won't have to reapply the GPS Fix.

It's the version from SSK 1.2 I cooked the other day

I drilled down into the SSK files and the version is 6.2.3.2301

All I'm trying to do is not have to reinstall everything again

There has to be a registry key I can get to that deals with this

It may have something to do with the 6.5 beta I was trying. I switched back to SSK 1.2 and afterward performed a hard reset (center d-pad + reset hole). When I went to go use gps it would not work. I tried numerous times and finally re-apply the GPS fix from Bored. After applying the fix the GPS locked within seconds.

I will try another hard reset (center + reset) and see what happens and let you know.

Maybe there is something different with the way the CAB I downloaded works. I will cook it in with the kitchen later today.

Hi all, I am using Scott's Choice ROM, one thing that I notice is that when I am typing in the first few letters of a contacts name to send a text message to, I no longer get the contact's name/email automatically showing up??? This was always something that was available, is it the ROM or my device?

"Choice" is a pretty stripped down ROM... more than likely Scott just removed that functionality in that version.... If you really like/need it, you may want to try "Standard".

At this point, I've cooked up a new ROM and started over

The problem did go away and I'm able to create/edit/delete accounts

Is there a good way to incrementally "image" the phone in it's current state so if I screw something up I don't have to reinstall everything

Kind of like Norton Ghost for PC's

It takes an exact "digital snapshot" of your system and if anything happens (bork) you reinstall that file and everything is exactly as it was before der borken

I'm sure I'm not the first to want this, so if anyone knows of a link with this info, please do post

Yeah I was using the Standard but I wanted more free RAM so I went with Choice. I guess I can live without it.
