Not sure if this resolved yet but...

I used the 1.2 kitchen and flashed without psShutXP and when I hold the power button, I am asked if I want to shut down and I hit yes and I am shown the VZW splash screen and my TP powers down.

Is there some sort of conflict between the stock shutdown and psShutXP shutdown process that confuses the machine?

howevr, it still doesn't work for me because of "I don't have the right permissions" could be a conflict with the one built into the 3.0 ROM...going to try to rename that one and try again

Sorry, never came back from dinner... had one of those good old fashioned nights without my TP. I know, very strange... but it was nice!

Is this a case where the SDKCerts.cab would resolve this issue?

I do actually have SDKCerts.cab installed... it goes in with my SDconfig, so that might be why i didnt have issues installing the newer shutXP

Thanks, but it was just because the one built into the 3.0 ROM was running. Once I shut down that process, I was able to install it. However, I wanted to delete the ROM one, but it wouldn't let me delete it because it was in the ROM even though I changed it from Read-Only.

Additionally, this version did not work either...However, I'm not truly convinced because of the existance of another version in ROM. Someone who doesn't have it burned into ROM needs to try it.

The link for this version is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=3227021

and they say that all functions work

I may actually try to pull that outa cab form and back it into a flash... or try that cab of scotts for the stock shutdown then try this newer shutXP... either way, thanks very much for the link Bob!

i posted this back in the 3.0 thread, but i didn't really get feedback - has anyone been experiencing the "nonstop vibrate" after receiving e-mail? it'll just go and go until i click on the email.

Anyone know where or if there is a .cab for that Opera build (opera9_2649_VGA) somewhere that I can just install, I haven't gotten around to get into cooking my own ROMs just yet.

Thanks in advance.

I just tried flashing with the 1.2 kitchen and got an error 324 from the updater utility after it reached 2%, now the phone is stuck in the tricolor screen saying no image found, if I try reflashing it tells me the flash utility is not for my phone?

You did unlock the phone first, correct?

All is good now, flashed and everything came right up. I think maybe my cable was a little loose. Not to sound like a total noob, but everyone says you should hard reset after flashing...does that mean popping the battery out and putting back in or doing the "Clear Storage" from the device?

Thanks for posting back... good to know!

To hard reset, press and hold the center button while pressing the soft reset hole with your stylest, keep the center button pressed until you see the on screen hard reset instructions.... taking the battery out is not hard resetting.
