Just a thought.

Secondly can you clarify the word "lag"

What is lag to me may be different than lag to you. More than 2 seconds to open the "windows" folder is lag to me. 10 seconds to you may be lag. See where this perceptual differnce can cause confusion?

Can you clarify what you are trying to do, what you have running, etc.

I too have used most roms on this board and they dont "lag" per se as your dsescrioption. Most are pretty damn fast, including Juggalo's. I was runing his until I got my own stuff going. Wasnt slow at all on my memory limited version. This makes me suspect that you have hardware failure. But anyways....

Tell us more and be as descriptive as possible.

Thanks!

Re: Tried different roms but still laggy..

When I say lag, I mean when I open up a text message it doesn't load. It takes couple minutes to pop up. Or when I'm using opera the phone just freezes, and I have to wait couple minutes or just do a soft reset. When I type a text or anything it types it very slowly, like 3 seconds after I have pressed the specific key. Also when I slide out the keyboard there is a long lag sometimes as well. So basically overall, everything is running poorly and either lags or freezes my phone.

Re: Tried different roms but still laggy..

Normally I would say do a hard reset. Sometimes these phonescome out of the box with an unexplained lag. I have no clue why or what causes it. That said though, you have tried different roms and when the phone restarts, that is usually enough to solve the issue of major lag as described above. I would say in your case, return your phone. Something is not right with it. It sounds defective. You an try a hard reset if you have not already done so but if you have then you really need to return it. The Touch Pro has a mod amount of lag in some instances but nothing like you explained. Nothing that takes min to do.

How do you do a hard reset. Just take the battery out?

Re: Tried different roms but still laggy..

What ROMs have you tried? Have you used one with an increased page pool? I have a Sprint TP and I noticed how laggy it was. My friend has an AT&T Fuze and man, that thing was twice as fast as my Sprint version. I flashed eRice's ROM and modified it to have a 48MB page pool (a little excessive, but whatever) and my TP now runs smooth as butter. No lagging when moving the TF3D slider or when opening programs. Keep commonly used programs running in the background so that you don't have to reload it everytime you want to use it (e.g. messaging, phone, etc).

Re: Tried different roms but still laggy..

Settings/system/clear storage is one way.

The other way requires the phone to be off completely so pull and insert the battery. Press and hold the vol down key and the center round key. Now press and hold the power button until you see instructions. If it doesn't work the first time, keep trying. It sometimes take a bit to get the pressure on the butons just right. Just remember that the phone has to be off completely for it to work.

FYI, you mentioned lag when you are typing. This is a known issue. There are "fixes" but IMHO they don't work all that well. It's been suggested that turning off T9 helps, and I can confirm that it does but there is still noticable lag when typing. Your other lag issues are not normal. There is no reason your text should take minutes to show up. Seconds maybe but not minutes.
