Smile First Flash- a few noob questions

I recently messed up my Tf3D on my Stock Sprint Touch Pro, and it gave me an excuse to flash, however I am a bit nervous about this whole thing.

I don't want to brick my phone [obviously] and I just wanted first to know about this whole unlocker thing, what exactly does it do? Is there one that I can run FROM my phone? My WMDC on Vista doesn't work, and never has and it is quite a pain. Is there any simple cab that I can run or something?

Secondly, I have decided to try a rom- now does Jugallo's(sorry for spelling) contact a different (better) radio? or is it the same? Also are the customizations that I see on his thread already built in? Will it look that way from the start? Or must I change things?

Also- will Opera be on there by default?

Lastly (for now) will my Storage Card be wiped out?

-Thanks all, and excited to flash to a new rom, just don't want to make any mistakes
