1X CDMA only plug-in?

In every effort to save battery, I have locked my device to 1X only. My office has horrible reception and doing this, I can still have 50 to 60% battery left when I get home at night vs. having to charge by lunchtime. So I ask you developers for one little thing please!!! A today screen plug-in that would allow me to toggle between 1x only and hybrid modes of operation. At this time I have to go to settings/phone/services/ choose mode of operation and hit get settings. Then in that screen choose either 1x or hybrid. I figured since changing this way doesn’t require a soft reboot then a plug-in shouldn’t be hard to do. It would make things very simple for those of us that are constantly in and out of EVDO areas. Tap the plug-in and it say Mode = 1X only; tap again and it say Mode = Hybrid. Anybody know how to make this happen?

See this thread.

I was thrilled when someone posted this script. Works great. I think it'll suffice for your needs.

You do need to install Mortscript first, but that's pretty easy.

Not exactly what I was talking about. When I run the shortcut in that thread it just opens the same phone settings screen. I would like a button on the today screen to toggle with.

Re: 1X CDMA only plug-in?

Well, sure a button would be even nicer. Like a program to execute that would do it.

I posted in many places and that's the best I could find.

I put it in my start menu and it's very quick. Works for me.

If you do find something better, please post here.

Where did you have to put the toggle1x file? I tried to run it manually and got a not program to execute type of error.

You have to install a program called mortscript for it to run properly.

Re: 1X CDMA only plug-in?

OK, now its working, I was going under the assumption that mortscript was not needed as mentioned in post#2. This will work unless someone would like to make that today screen style plugin to toggle it!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, thanks to the both of you for the replys. This will stop alot of clicking!

Re: 1X CDMA only plug-in?

Yes, it's not too bad. This works for me. It's a HUGE improvement over doing in manually.

If anyone ever comes out with an executable that does it someday, even better.
