I am torn on what to do!

Ok so i have the verizon touch pro and it is slow some times and i really need a rom that can play videos better than what it is doing now and i also need it to do gps and radio would be nice. I dont know what to get and if i should do it. I would do it if i know these answers.

1. Is it possible to get the custom rom back to the original and lock the gps and radio and EVERYTHING back to the way they were before i did it?
2. When i flash it will it erase everything on my sd card and my contacts and stuff like that?
3. Is it easy to do?
4. What are the risks?
5. i would also like to have all the windows mobile stuff like the text conversation and the the office mobile.
6. What is the best rom for all this stuff?

YES...

It doesn't touch your SD card, but you are doing a hard reset so it will erase your contacts. Its a PDA though back them up.


3. Is it easy to do?

Depends on your comfort level, its pretty easy for me

You could brick your phone and render the warranty useless.

Thats all built into Windows Mobile, you're not converting it to Palm OS or anything?

The best ROM for a Verizon TP to Enable the GPS (Sorry TP doesn't have an FM Radio with Verizon) is SCROSLER Rom, see my sig for the link. Check his thread for instructions and details. His ROM gives you more free memory, and makes the phone a heck of a lot faster than it is stock.

I second that and now the v3 has my GPS Fix fully automated, it's about as easy as it can get.

Yeah, I heard thats a fat ROM for VZW. In the post some guy was saying he couldnt beleive how fast videos play. Especially in TCMP. That scrosler guy has it going on....

Ok, Im over myself now....

But for real man, Check out my ROM. You will like it. If not I will help you get back to stock rom myself.

I had quite a few people say that the video capabilities were awesome. I have never played a video on my phone (can they really do that??? J/K) but can tell you that all th other functions are solid in ver 3.0.

The only thing about that Scrosler kid is his ego, but his ROMS kick butt...lol As for Videos' I can tell you they run well, I have to download a crap load of kid movies (WallE, etc..) for my 3yr old to watch when we're at dinner or shopping at the mall to keep him happy, plus I watch TV shows I've recorded on my media center on my lunch breaks at work and the video doesn't stall or lag or anything. Plus like lllboredlll says his latest GPS fix is god like.... Before it was good enough, but the new version my GPS locks onto 9-11 satellites in under 25 seconds. His fix combined with Quick GPS blows away anything else. I dont even have to run HTC GPS Tool anymore just turn the GPS feature on and Open TomTom Nav 7.0 and 5 secs later I'm off and running. You couldnt ask for a better combination on any carrier... Even if I was with Sprint I'd be trying to flash with his ROM. Believe me I sent both of them $ it was well worth it.... You'll be a believer too trust me and if you have any questions we're all here to help. These guys are pros, I work for VZW so can help you out with your account questions you'll be ok.
