Thanks for the post, I was just getting the same error with my VZW TP. I also am new to trying to build a ROM with your kitchen (I used to do with my titan) but is there a place with a better description to what each package does/is in the kitchen? There are a lot of tweaks/icons/apps that I have no idea what they do or even look like. Also is there a way to add .cab installers to the kitchen or do they have to be packages?

You can google the App name and you should find the answer to most of your questions unless its a mod. I would just start at the beginning of this thread and there are some links on how to use this kitchen. As far as cabs go I use Shashimi it simple or advanced depending on what you are trying to do add in. You can also just do a config.txt file but I think Shashimi app is a lot easier.I use autorun because I haven't figured out runcc. Just do a search for the cabs you want unless you know how to use the tools folder and make your own. Sense 2.1 runs pretty good waiting on the new port of Sense 2.5 then I probably switch overFrom my own experience opera mini works the best handles the low memory better but I still use opera 9.5.I cab in large files even though you can build a solid rom without changing anything in the kitchen and still have about 35-40 megs free.I cab in Youtube, GoogleMaps, Opera Mobile, Midomi and World Card Mobile and use the lzx compression and my sense 2.1 rom builds at about 101 megs hope this helps

I can confirm for VZW users that the GENERIC carrier works fine, Just do a *228 1 (reboot) then *228 2 to reprogram the phone after you flash.

Other notes for those cooking for a VZW...

1 - Make sure to change the Pagepool to 8 or 6 before you flash. The Kitchen will run the PP changer after creating the rom. Select the rom that was just created, change to the appropriate number then press the change key.

2 - Try to minimize what extra packages you include in the ROM. The Less you pack in there the more RAM that will be available to operate the device. Install the rest to the Storage Card (unless it is required to be installed to device then try and cook it in)

After Flashing let Customization run the do the following.

3 - Change your Opera:Config to use the storage card for Cache. Go into Opera and type opera:config into the location bar. (try to do it with the radio off it will save you a few K of space later) Then go to user prefs and change the directory4 setting from /windows/opera9/etc to /Storage Card/Opera9/etc . By doing that Opera will save all the downloaded files onto the storage card leaving your device ram free to run programs and display pages.

4 - Set Email to store attachements on Storage Card (again best to do this with the radio off) Run the email wizard and configure all your accounts. Once done go to email then menu to Tools/Options and select the storage tab. Check "when available use Storage Card."

The key is really set the pagepool low and really strip out all the stuff that can be run from the storage card from the cook.
I haven't used sashimi but if it can install stuff automatically to the storage card that would be a great way to go!

I keep a backup of my PIM and all of my cabs on my storage card for those times when the unit needs a hard reset and re-install...

Can't tell you how many times that has saved my ass!

Ok, another total noob question. Now that I have the ROM built and flashed, how do I save it as an .nbh so that I have the ROM usable without having to go through the kitchen to "Create ROM" and then select my RUU and then flash?

c:\... ..\Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen v4.2\Release_Touch_Pro rename the file ruu_signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh now you can use it from sd card. remember that the ruu_signed.nbh gets replaced each time you create a rom.

I have a question. How do i get rid of the white square on the home screen when using the generic carrier option. Im on verizon and cant get the verizon carrier to work even with the newer one referenced on previous page. Not sure where to look for duplicates as that seems to be the problem from what ive read. I have done both *228 options (though i didnt think that would fix it) and used nfsfans prvisioning cab. still have the white square where "verizon" should be next to wireless in the top left corner.

T.Martin now that 2012 port of Sense 2.5 is pretty close to being done how do you add newer files into your kitchen

Just grab all the needed files and extract them to folders and drop them in.
De-select the old files and select the new ones.
All you have to do.

ive been reading around that the flamrise.tsk causes smearing in the start menu is that because it doesnt play well with manila 2.5 or is the tsk corrupt?
