If you are flashing with 1.4 or 1.4a then it won't but if you are using the 1.4 beta 1 that I provided a few posts back then that is 2 kitchens ago. Keyboard worked then.

no i cant even get them to start to enter a build or flash mode to add oems....it wont start period.....btw w7 64bit it might be a issue with that but i have used build os before just run as admin and i have tried to run in vista compatibility mode

Do you have .net and the c++ runtime installed?

Has it been confirmed that its just the sip issue? Replacing merdins fixes it? Read that a few pages back but 1.4b does not have all the updates that 1.4 does correct?

That wont work for me will it I might release this rom for people to use so they would have to have the cabs on their sdcard?

Does anyone know how to change the font color for Comm Manager? I don't care for the white background in this kitchen so I replaced with the Sprint Comm Manager background but the font is black so it doesn't show up against the dark background. Have done many searches but have not been able to find a way to do it...

1.4 beta 1 does not have all the updates that 1.4 or 1.4a has, so yes you are correct. When Calkulin released 1.4 the other night, I found the issue with the Hardware Keyboard. Calkulin immediately changed the link for the new 1.4 to the original 1.4 Beta 1. Then early the following morning he released 1.4a in hopes that fixed the keyboard issue, it didn't. What you read a couple pages back, and I read it too, I have good reason to believe this person downloaded after Calkulin changed the link, so in essence he got the original 1.4 beta 1 kitchen. Calkulin never renamed the download so I can see how someone could be under the impression that they actually DL'd the newer 1.4. I hope all this makes some sense.

change these reg entries:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1]

to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
@="00000409"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1]
@="00000409"

looks like calkulin forgot the .rgu file in SYS\OS but that might have been moved elsewhere... regardless keyboard works again!

Good catch, but he actually has the .rgu file in the SYS/OS. But has it twice, one modulized and one not. HMMM???

EDIT...It is that way in the 1.4 Beta 1 kitchen also.

I think it's because the file is set to System and Hidden. Hold on a second doing some tests!

none of the registry entries are being applied from that file in 1.4a so it has to be a file attribute issue

Same here, I have been able to flash using the 1.4 with the keyboard working. Still got a couple things to narrow down though.
