The "Sprint Extras" is from the generic carrier, the battery folder is from the rapid charge battery package. The others are pretty self explanatory. Hope that helps.

well... i think i can't leave out the tools folder of ROM anyway and now i don't even give a d*mn about it:). i tried to not include some cabs and files from TOOLS but it seems they have bugfixes inside as well. the phone just won't function correctly without them... so whatever!

there's another problem i'm concerned about now: i left out almost all of the software from the Calk kitchen list, just the basic winmo programs any other pda got installed remained. it's veeeery close to "clean" i would say. BUT! i know that my memory crippled vzw tp1 is not one of a kind... anyway it doesn't mean that at boot my phone should start at 75-77%! the same i had when flashing the full version of Calkulin's rom! i guess i did smth wrong. most likely the kitchen list of software doesn't mean much because i can see the "tails" (in the phone's registry) of the software i didn't even mention in the list. what's more i can't get the internet connection for long and the speed seems to get much slower as if i had 1X.
so i wonder if i should take some more steps than just merely leave out the apps from the kitchen list. should i???

One thing I recommend you get is a good file searching program. I use Windows Grep (wingrep.com). It is invaluable when you are searching for a registry entry or a folder like you are doing.

The interface has a built-in search function and editor. You can search within a variety of files or search for a certain file. I'm sure you already knew this, but it prevents from having to use external programs. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I completely forgot about it. I do almost all my work outside of the kitchen so I'm in that frame of mind. ](*,)

I am receiving a runtime error while trying to build a rom. i have done some searching and the only thing i did this weekend was add some EXT. Nothing else. I excluded them while trying to rebuild to see if one of them was the problem, but i still get the error. Im using a build that i use very frequently. Is there something else i should be looking for?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just restored my computer to an earlier time. All is well now. Still would like to know what caused it.

well, now i'm running calk's kitchen based rom. absolutely clean with no extra stuff. the way i want it to be. it works smoothly enough for me. no lags, no delays in work. but i noticed some bugs as well:

1. themes bug. when trying to change "flamerise.tsk" with a different theme the system crashes! i got abracadabra on my screen and the phone is a lemon. if i, say, choose the classic theme and reboot it works again and all the functions are present but the screen is a mess. have to perform another hard reset...

2. comm manager. i don't wanna use the oem version comm manager that calk included in his kitchen. okay, i start the kitchen, leave out the comm manager skin and disable the oem comm manager in OEM folder. got the NBH file, flash new rom and bang! the comm manager screen is a total mess! if i cook the oem comm manager in then everything's correct. i tried already move swinn's stock comm manager kitchen files but that didn't work too...

p.s. i am running 6.5.x 23506 now.

Does anyone have another link for Calkulin's roms in the first link? I just got a touch pro and I'm looking for the spb mobile shell rom.
