Re: [ Discontinued ][ v4.2 ][ 6.5.x / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual VGA Kitchen & ROM

Ive tried to do some searching but was unable to come up with much. I tried out the 21055 6.1 build on my Verizon touch pro and I love it. I would like to however remove a lot of the apps included.

I attempted to use the latest kitchen to create a custom 21055 6.1 build and i end up with a non booting device. I tried dumping the working ROM but i am a bit out of my league. Any suggestions?

Did you check "Real WM 6.5 AKU"?

I did not. I didnt think to check it because I was building a 6.1 rom. Does that still need to be checked?

Yup. From the second post:

Make sure to check Real WM 6.5 AKU for ALL SYS when building or IT WILL NOT BOOT

Is there anyone out here who could give me a hand in fixing the following: I downloaded Calculin’s kitchen 4.2 last nite and tried to cook smth for my personal use but in fact I never did any. During the process of cooking it shows “error” first and then asks to close the program. I close that but… it continues to run and I can see it going on till I get another window saying smth like: unprocessed exception in the component or so and XIP.bin was not found. You know why this happens?
I got Windows 7 installed on my PC (might be that is the reason – not compatible?). I never cooked in fact and it’d be awesome to find a detailed step by step for this kitchen as well. Just trying to find a stable rom for myself but, Gee, I can’t… Any recommendations which kitchen to choose?

You can try TMartin's updated Calkulins Kitchen. Make sure to unzip the kitchen to your DESKTOP. Here is the link to the kitchen I mentioned: http://mobileunderground.info/tmarti...chen%20v4.3.7z

Are you running the kitchen as administrator?

yep, i do. so help me, i don't know what the problem is... i've some tutorials on coonikng and the stuff but i can't one for calculin's. you know if it's your first time you do it it's all kinda strange. i don't really wanna use a rom with a lot of pre-installed software. i want just a stable clean version. dialer would be enough for me:).

i am using now vzw tp1 and wanna find a stable rom for that but the roms i flashed - they all suck! now running mighty6 but it "freezes" all the time. gee...

Calkulin's kitchen uses Ervius's Visual Kitchen. The thread for his kitchen is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469420

I would start with a fresh extraction of Calkulin's kitchen and make sure you can build with it before modifying it. Load the kitchen, choose Touch Pro for the device. Choose the XIP and SYS version you want to build. Select the EXT version based on what build you are using. Select "Real WM 6.5 AKU" so it knows you have a native 6.5 kernel. You can change the pagepool under the "Other" button. Click Create ROM when ready.

If you are getting an error with a fresh copy of the kitchen then I would guess it is a permission issue with Windows. I don't have a copy of Win7 here to test it on.

If you want a barebones ROM without all the fluff, then you might want to try my ROM. It's about as close to pure WinMo as you can get.

On some kitchens when using the verizon carrier you need to delete the assisteddialer.dll in the PhoneRedist folder or use generic for your carrier and that should clear platform builder errors
