Hi, I'm thinking about trying your rom as your work looks to be the most impressive by far for the alltel TP.

I've been reading a lot about unlocking and flashing custom roms from numerous sites such as xda, mobilitysite, pocketpcaddict, PDAphonehome, etc, so I can be sure not to screw anything up. Your links to the instructions looks pretty straight foward.
Just a few questions before I take the plung.

1) Is there anything (other than what you have already instructed) that I may have missed that I should know about, or things I should look for during the pre/post unlocking and flashing?

2) What does the "UC" stand for at the end of your rom build number?

3) Any idea when alltel may release a rom update and/or a shipped rom so I can flash back in the future?

4) Should I consider upgrading/changing my radio version? If so, what version? Should radio be flashed before, during or after flashing to your rom?

I rarely post questions and try not to bother you guys to much by searching and reading everything before I ask. I completely understand why the flames fly sometimes as many questions get asked eternally over and again.

I also appreciate the time and effort as well as the sharing of information provided by you guys on these forums.

I just want to be as safe as possible before flashing.

1. To unlock your phone just follow the instructions here and you'll be good to go. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42503
Then, to flash a rom you just sync phone to computer and open the conflipper exe.
2. UC stands for user customizations. It's a feature that's used to install programs and settings automatically at the end of the flash process. I suggest when you get comfortable with flashing you can look into more. When you see that UC in the rom name or description that means that this feature is built into the rom.
3. I haven't heard any talk of a new release coming soon, but you can get the stock dumped rom here if you want to go back to the stock setup. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=42741
4. I've tried many of the other radio's available and haven't noticed any difference, but you can read through the radio thread and make the decision for yourself. A lot of mixed results, but it seems people have had the best results with the telus radio. I've flashed the radio before and after rom installs and it has worked perfectly. Never during though. You just want to make sure your phone is unlocked before you flash a radio or rom.

One other thing to note. there is currently no stock radio available to reflash should you have problems with the Telus ( or any other radio for that matter).

Some people have gone back to the Diamond radio but the radio on your current Alltel Touch Pro is not available for reflashing at this time.

It may or may not matter to you but it was a consideration for me.

anybody else having problems with sluggish or non functional slide-2-answer?
never worked awesome even with just fresh ROM but in last few days it will flash and show me call coming in then I slide it but it doesn't answer at all or not until 4th 5th push on the talk button.

currently have it disabledbut would like to use it again.
