Re: [12/27/08] Juicy ROM 4.5 [SYS OS 5.2.20954 Build 20954.1.5.0]

Juicy,

Dream has some updated drivers

DDI.dll
ddraw.dll
d3d.dll

I am not sure which if any of them has made a huge improvement in how smooth the GPS scrolls when you are moving. It's a super huge change. It's still a bit lagged but it's far less then I have ever seen it on these devices. Just giving a heads up.

care to do a vsbenchmark2007 (free app) on his rom and tell me what he scores?

I'm working on the next release (updated caching/drivers) and have scored a personal best of 2720

Just a couple things I noticed. none of my drop menues in SPB Pocket Plus OR SPB Shell work.

Now when usung Pandora, when the phone goes to sleep, the player will stop. Befpre, the player would continue to play in the background.

not sure about the menus, you should try hard-resetting

pandora closes because I've enabled the "x" to close rather than minimize.... you can change this in settings> task manager

Juicy

The Opera Mobile in 4.5 does not seem to support flashlite 3.1, youtube didn't work in Opera Mobile.

I installed a different Opera Mobile and Youtube now works.

This is still by far the best rom on i've tested.

Thanks again :-)

Juicy,

I thought I posted this here before, but it does not appear to be in the thread

is there a cab or a regfix you can apply to have a detailed roaming menu, like found in Juggalo's rom.

Home only
Automatic-A
Automatic-B
Standard
Roaming Only

Helps me out in some fringe areas

Juicy, are you noticing some laggyness when scrolling in the Launch Programs?
You and Dream are using the same things basically but his has no laggyness. Not sure what the difference is. That and the GPS are really the only two things I have found so far performance wise that are different. I think both roms are about even in general speed.

Oh and flashing his rom now and will run the bench for you. I'll report what I get when I am done.

2479 so far first run. Going to run it again. Some things to keep in mind, I am running 0mb PP, phone plugged into an AC charger (not computer) and I have not run any personal customizations on his rom due mostly to the fact that his UC is not working on his rom right now.

2479 1st run
2518 2nd run

I upgraded from 4.4 and my volume buttons are now working, but I can not do a hard reset by going to settings and clear storage. I tried the finger aerobics exercises too with no success.

Clear storage is a known issue.

pull the battery then reinstall. Hold the vol down and the center button at the same time. Then press and hold the power button until you get instructions. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times if you are not pressing the buttons just right but you can always pull the battery again and start over.

I'll try another hard reset but I've done it once with no change. I use Shell instead of TF3D as it's 10x's more useful and customizable.

I checked and while I'm still miffed at how it continues to play in the background EVEN after pressing the power button to manually put the phone in standby, it will not do it in your ROM. It does this magical feet in the stock ROM somehow.

These are the only things (outside of the Clear Storage) I have found out of place. Otherwise, this baby really F-L-Y-S! Great ROM and looking forward to a week to play with it before the update.

Not sure if its something ROM related, but I thought I would put it up to see if anybody else had a similar experience.

I ran Sprite Backup today to completely save all my settings (finally got my TP all set up with this ROM) and it took nearly 2.5 hours to do a full backup. I've never had a backup take so long, but everything came out ok.

Anybody else have a really long back up process with Sprite and this ROM?

OK is anyone else having the text message problem where the notifaction doesn't go away until you view it through the scroll bar, starting to get annoying...

Also has anyone found a way to add another shortcut key I want to be able to press and hold one of the hardware buttons to activate voice command..

Please help/comment

BTW still loving the ROM overall, it is great!
