S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

First off I have to say that I love my touch pro. However, I have noticed two big problems that I havent seen anyone talk about yet. The first one deals with S2U2. It works great, but my problem is that S2U2 quits if I press the end key. I installed S2U2 because I didnt want random buttons to be pressed while I had the phone in my pocket. I figured that it would be much harder for my phone to unlock with the slide function. Since the end key is able to bypass the whole slide function, this makes S2U2 less effective than I want. Is there anyway to fix this problem and have it unlock only if you use the slider?
The second problem I have noticed is in regards to my signal strength. Its not horrible, but it isnt close to some of the other phones I have had in the past. I would say that it is mediocre at best. Although I have not dropped a call yet, it worries me that I have worse reception than my old voyager and my dad's blackberry. Is there any way to boost my signal strength other than those antenas you attach to your car?

Re: S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

What version of S2U2 are you running?

Unless you are getting really slow internet and dropping a ton of calls, don't worry about it, not all phones get the same signal strength.

Re: S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

I have S2U2 v1.37. Thats the latest version I think.

As for signal strength, the only reason I care is because my dad has 3 bars sitting here and I have 0 to 1 bars. My voyager also has 3 bars. I looked at my dads status screen to check the dbm and looked at my field test to see my dbm and we are both around the same number. Thats weird because the bars would indicate that ours would be very different. (I think. I looked up signal strength online before I made this thread and that is what they said to do to measure it.) So what is the real measure of my signal strength?

Ok, good I was worried for a second. But what about S2U2? Is there anyway to fix my problem with that?

I also noticed a problem with windows live search. In the app there is a gas prices part. I click on that, but it gives me prices from 20miles away. Is there anyway to get prices closer to me instead of getting the cheap prices from far away? Are there any alternative apps for gas prices? I know I can always check online, so it really isnt that big of a problem. However, its nice to use an app instead.

Re: S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

As far as S2U2, it might be something with the VZW rom. That doesn't happen for me on S2U2 1.37, but I'm on a Sprint Touch Pro. You might try one of the VZW custom ROMs, or post in the S2U2 thread on XDA.

After you do the search for the gas station click "Menu" then "Map All", you will then see all the search stations with prices on the street map, now drive to the nearest station with the best price.

Remember this is a database and the database is only as good as the data entered w/gas station locations and prices.

Re: S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

There are a few discussions in the general Touch Pro Forum regarding this. I'm gonna close this one down. Please make sure that you're posting in the correct forum.
