S2U2 and Signal Strength Issues

First off I have to say that I love my touch pro. However, I have noticed two big problems that I havent seen anyone talk about yet. The first one deals with S2U2. It works great, but my problem is that S2U2 quits if I press the end key. I installed S2U2 because I didnt want random buttons to be pressed while I had the phone in my pocket. I figured that it would be much harder for my phone to unlock with the slide function. Since the end key is able to bypass the whole slide function, this makes S2U2 less effective than I want. Is there anyway to fix this problem and have it unlock only if you use the slider?
The second problem I have noticed is in regards to my signal strength. Its not horrible, but it isnt close to some of the other phones I have had in the past. I would say that it is mediocre at best. Although I have not dropped a call yet, it worries me that I have worse reception than my old voyager and my dad's blackberry. Is there any way to boost my signal strength other than those antenas you attach to your car?
