Surely you wouldn't have to back up your text messages more than once per flash (right before and restore right after) so I wouldn't see why using that program to only back up text messages before a flash would be that big of a deal since it wouldn't go over the 5 backup limit. You could also pay for it and then it will work for good.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't it 5 messages not 5 backups.

From SPB backup manual :

You will be able to use Spb Backup until the end of the 5 running times from the first run. If you have not registered Spb Backup trial version, you will need to do so to continue using it.

Another one to try is Dashwire and Group SMS if you just want to back up the texts.....you cannot put them back on the phone but on Dashwire it sends them and pics, vids and contacts automatically as long as it is running...not to menion if you do not want to leave it running it will back uo when you run it.....I leave it running all the time...I do take it out of the start up folder though....the contacts can be backed up to the phone....Group SMS saves them to an excel file and has some other settings that are pretty cool....both are free

that's a glitch in the HTC task manager. it happens rarely. nothing really you can do but click on it and it will refresh.

Thank you Jugg for creating my favorite rom. Quick question. what should i do if i want to stop the sensitive wheel scroll all together? is the setting in diamond tweaks? thanks
