Can't get data on CDMA TP

ok so I got this pro three days ago on a mix up upgrade with my prior mogul so if I screw anything up please let me know.

My main concern right now is I am not getting any data and its driving me crazy. Anyone else had these problems with sprints TP and if so how do you fix it. I did call sprint they said " well sir you just have to take that phone to a store because we just haven't ever dealt with it, I dont even beilive we carry it. WOW WHAT AN IDIOT. oh and the store didnt even know how to turn the screen on! so please help me out
