If i were you I would hard reset, then install the new picmail from powerdeck first,beforebyou do anything, cause its not the rom,but sometimes weird things happen tgat dont make sense,like ince i flashed, I didnt have U.S. in my weather tab,so i hard reset and all was fine.

Booo! That's not what I want to hear.

It takes me days to get all my apps, accounts, and custom Manila stuff all setup and logged in. I've done it 6 times now testing different ROMs and such and I'm sick of it. There has to be a way to get PictureMail working, it's the only thing wrong with my phone right now.

I guess if no one can help I'll just wait it out with no PictureMail until a new release with 5.2.21109 or newer is out and then go through the configuration hell all over again.

ever heard of sprite backup or spb backup? works wonders for me...been using that since the ppc 6700...every customization i've done is completely restored down to the registry edit...

also....have you just tried to do a hard reset and install the picmail cab first? .....the picmail file that you used initially is the older one...then i think when you go to powerdeck it directs you to download just the upgrade which is 'picturemail.cab' ....why that would fail..i don't know....

speaking of cabs not working...is anyone else unable to install a different version of Opera on this rom....i keep getting a "permissions' issue..stating ..

"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions."

any help will be appreciated..

Down to the reg-edit? Really? I had heard of them of course, but I thought they were only for backing up your data, not every reg edit. I looked at the web site for both of them and neither talk about backing up reg edits, just your programs, contacts, etc.

I use an exchange server so all my data is auto-synced. The thing that takes so long is installing Diamond Tweak, TF3D Config, Advanced Cfg Tool, etc... then going through every option, then doing manual reg tweaks on top of that, then installing all my programs and configuring all my mail and IM accounts and such, then configuring the settings/options for all of my installed programs.

Are you really telling me that both of those backup solutions will save all of the configuration and manual reg-edits for Windows and all of my installed programs? ...and I can restore such a backup on top of a new system after installing PictureMail and then it will be exactly how it is now, but with PictureMail working?

Somehow it sounds too good to be true. Wouldn't restoring every registry setting from my current system probably prevent PictureMail from loading? I mean, I'm sure installing PictureMail makes changes to the registry, which would then be lost when restoring my old registry... right?

first...you'd have to do a hard reset and set it the way you want first then of course backup....and yes...reg-edits for me have been placed back...even things like using a regedit to make my version of pocketcm the default the contacts app have come back...taskbar changes which include regedits as well have been put into place (battery increment etc)...if it doesn't then maybe my phone just moves so smoothe after i restore that i don't see the need...and i have quite a bit of stuff installing with a restore (almost 20-30 added appz etc....as you know manila changes don't come back....now if that's what your modding...then i guess i feel for you (?) ...but otherwise....you'll just be doing what countless fellow geeks here do which is redo---redo---redo---redo until you say "f--- this....i'm leaving it the way it is..."

also...you can always export your registry to save some of the changes to you made....certainly you already know that as well
