Re: I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a Touch Pro rom!

Doubt that would fix your problem with picturemail... and check your PM

its almost 3am and I am not forming proper sentences again. What I meant is since I planned on re-flashing to test if that might have been problem with picturemail and this has just came out for setting pagepool I am going to kill two birds with one stone, and flash is done now and it is lightning fast compared to last flash and memory reflects an actual change so it seems this pagepool option works. Will post on the picturemail in a few after I can check it out in JD's thread

Re: I have successfully changed the PagePool size on a Touch Pro rom!

Traditionally, when it comes to PC's, a dynamic page file is considered a bad thing. Most people will make the pagefile static and 1.5 to 2.0 times physical available ram which in most cases helps computer performance.

For mobile phones, the page pool is used in the same way but there is far less available memory to create a pagepool that would function for all programs. If you use a static pagepool and a program requires more then what is available, then you get a slower responding program. If you use a dynamic pagepool, that same program will use all available memory that it needs which in theory should make it respond faster. Since every program is different, a dynamic pagepool makes sense. You don't have to commit to any specific memory size.

I have not done any benchmarking or testing but I have been using dynamic pagepools since I found out you could and for me the programs are at least as fast as everyone else that uses static.
