I hope there will be a refined version of 1.04 of WM6.1 (build 21042 w/o HD/TP2). I like more of WM6.1 where I can set 4 icons in a row and that's 20 icons per screen of the "Programs" compared to 9 icons per screen of WM6.5. The today screen of WM6.5 still needs multiple touches to get what you want and does not automatically return to the clock after you finish your task e.g. reading the sms. I am still using the HTC Home plugin. The IE in WM6.5 is kinda slow to refresh and move around and hard to click a link and I like the IE in WM6.1 build 21042 where you can use the up, down, left and right keys to navigate around the links. I like the menus in WM6.1 where you can see all entries in one screen though they are smaller than that of WM6.5 and I feel awkward in WM6.5 where I have to slide and slide to see what's all in a menu (try the menu of phone) and frequently push into a menu entry I do not intend to by mistake during the sliding. The MSN weather in WM6.5 seems very slow and buggy and overall, WM6.5 feels slow and a little awkward to use. Maybe that's me and I need time to get acustomed to WM6.5 and I don't even use Manilla 3D to slide and slide and slide and slide in order to find a contact.

I hear ya. But there are ways around everything you just mentioned. Now, before I go on, I wan't to say that I am not arguing w/ ya, just throwing some ideas out there. WM 6.5 has four icons in a row. There is a cab to modify the start menu and remove the honeycomb. IE in 6.5 is somewhat slow, but it will play most flash embedded in a website. No more mobile versions or TCPMP hacks needs for it to work. For a non-flash site, I use Opera anyway. It's faster than any pocket IE. The menus are bigger in 6.5 but they are also easier to use touch with your thumb, and they flick and scroll so it aint too bad. Flick once and see the rest of the menu. MSN weather is slow. I only use it for the extended weather. For standard weather, 5 day forcast, and radar images right on ure today screen in WM6.5 use TitainiumWeather. I can see the temp at a glance. But to each his own....

Thanks for all the great tips. I tried it again for a while and still felt it not so responsive as build 21042. The phone would lock up from time to time. I think I'll stay with 1.04 for a while.

I tried various combinations and found the problem.

1. All the special codes ##codes# or ##codes dial do not work except one: ##778 dial
2. The working one ##778 dial only works if PhoneCanvas (3.40.32288.1) is cooked in the ROM and the HTC PhoneCanvas is the default dialer.
3. If you want to use the Windows standard dialer, you have to deselect PhoneCanvas during cooking the ROM.
4. The same version of PhoneCanvas (3.40.32288.1) was used in 1.03.9d but 1.03.9d does not have the above problems. It works with all the ##codes# and with both the HTC PhoneCanvas and Windows standard dialer. The 1.04 and 1.07 I tested both have the above problems.
