Re: [4-10-09] eRice TP Kitchen v1.06 [SYS OS 5.2.21500 Build 21500.5.0.0] All Carrier

eRice, thanks for the 21500 kitchen! I didn't have a chance to even extract the previous version then this one emerges. I cooked a rom pretty much selecting everything. JetCet yelled at me so I just unchecked it. I'm using an alltel tp on cricket. Just need to find the optimum pagepool size and I think I'll be set! (i'm hearing 24MB is good for WM6.5, depends on individuals needs i suppose) Excellent job on the kitchen though, thanks again!

I am running 24 for WM 6.5 as well as TF3d (on a Sprint Touch Pro). I hear Verizon users use 9 or something around there.

yeah, the 9MB is to give you a bit more free RAM. not sure why they have to strip their phones, my theory is they cut costs on their devices thus giving a larger price margin to offset the cost of maintaining their network. again that is a theory/opinion, not factual. My current project is memory management on winmo 6.5, I'm assuming page pool is like pagefile/swap file on a PC.
anyways, i'll post my findings with memory management/optimization. I'm decided to stick with mr. eRice's kitchen

Actually JetSet probably won't worked if cooked in anyways. You can either delete the files from the oem or you can just uncheck it in the kitchen and then install it from a cab.... Don't be so quick to assume erice made a mistake. We are reeally lucky he is willing to put these together for us. Remember this a a pre-release os so things won't always work. You can always go back to 6.1.

i'd give him a break, he released 2 kitchens within a short time. IIRC its just a conflict, jetcet files exist elsewhere in the kitchen. I unchecked it myself, was too late to root out the conflict. search for the duplicate files within the kitchen folder/subfolders if you really need it cooked in. otherwise, just install the jetcet cab. it's floating around PPCG somewhere, also on xda-devs. I have the cab if u need it

Any1 know how to take out MS Voice Command? Ive grepped but can't find out where to remove stuff. I want to try and install CAB of voice command, I've heard that it announces calls through BlueTooth if cab is manually installed.

Voice Command is found in two folders inside SYS. Just delete those two folders and it won't be included. =)

This is great. I installed it today on my Verizon Touch Pro and it works great. The only issue I am having is memory. With a soft reset I come up with 78% of the running memory used. Now, that may be completely my fault as I check several things in the Kitchen such as extra games and themes etc. My question is, will that ultimately use up my runtime memory even though I am not actually running the programs?

Thanks for all your hard work!!!

I haven't downloaded this yet but I wanted to say thanks anyway.

I'm looking forward to trying this.

One more thing guys, the volume control is not working for me. I keep getting a "do your volume settings" message.

I have this zip here, its an OEM of the Volume Control.....can I just toss in everything in here with the exception of the rgu, dsm and xml files?

without installing anything, the volume has just started working....strange. I have also noticed that sometimes the device freezes for no apparent reason. This happen to anyone?

A couple of .RGUs in Customer OEMs I made are causing BuildOS in this kitchen to puke, but they work just fine in PPC-BuildOS (PPCKitchen). Anyone know of a general reason this might occur?
