First timer in terms of trying to any of this thing, so a total NOOB needing some pointers.

I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro, but I recently updated my phone with the ROM update from HTC. Hence my SPL version is SPL-0.40. I have read through a lot of threads and forums and they all seem to say different things about my situation. I have read the following different things (and I have not tried any of it yet. I am doing this for the first time and dont want to screw up anything):
1. Use the 0.37 HSPL from CMONEX and it will work just fine.
2. Use the SSPLManual_Raphael.zip and then proceed. I actually tried running this EXE on my phone but got an error.
3. I saw some random posts about an unlocker for 0.40 but didnt want to try that.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

the .37 unlocker in the first post is the only unlocker there is for your phone. so, thats the one to use.

Thanks for the reply. So I tried out the .37 unlocker and I got an communication error that said check the USB connection. I verified that the phone is connected through active sync and also made sure that under the USB to PC settings I have the "Enable advanced network functionality" box is UNchecked.

Anything else that I am missing?

Hi!
I have a Verizon HTC Touch Pro 2. I started the procedure to udate my ROM. I ran VZW_TP_SSPL-Manual, and it bricked my phone. I tried ALL the resurrection techniques to no avail. Luckily, I have warranty so I now have a new HTCTP2. I don't want to brick this one . Which locker\unlocker should I have used rather than VZW_TP_SSPL-Manual? Thanks, you folks are the best!

So I flashed back to stock Alltel MR1 from Energy rom (june something or other) so that I could lock the phone, update the PRL, unlock the phone, update radio, then flash to the new version of energy.
WELL, little problem. The relocker refuses to relock my phone this time around. This is strange because I did this no longer than a month ago without a hitch. I've reflashed the stock rom a few times, and tried the unlocker again just to see if that would allow me to relock, but to no avail.

I'm out of ideas here. I've even tried to lock via the SD card, but it just says "loading" and doesn't make progress. Please, if anyone has an idea of what to do next, help me. I'm begging here. I can load energy again, but without that PRL update, the phone is going to be useless.

put it in bootloader mode and tell us what it says there

you're already locked. that's why the relocker wont run.
