Hi, many posts ago someone asks if this will 'hard-reset' their device. I'm relatively new to ppc and I'm guessing a hard-reset is if all of your data is lost (installed programs, defaults, and contacts'. The answer he received was no - but when I run Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe it says I will lose all of my data. Which is the case?

Also, will unlocking my phone be a one-time ordeal? Does it save anything to my SD card or is everything saved onto my phone? Thank you.

Run the Hardspl .37....just follow the instructions on the first page you will be fine....it is an exe just run it and follow the on screen instructions....

Even though nothing is done with the SD card, I ALWAYS remove it before flashing just in case... I've lost data too many times. Now I just don't take chances.

Question and problem... Right now I only have a macbook and mac pro as computers. When i am just loading cabs, and transferring files i use Parallels to to run windows XP and its no problem. But whenever I try to load Hard SPL it tells me it doesnt see the phone and there is no connection. I have tried this with Parellels, VMWare, and bootcamp... Any suggestions?

uh... try running it twice since your using a VM, see lvdata's post from earlier in this thread:

This is also to let others know at least one person was able to unlock a TP with VMware and a XP Host and VM combination. This was NOT a issue when unlocking my older HTC Vogue on the exact same VMware Workstation/XP Host/XP VM setup.

Host XP sp2 with 4 gigs of ram, 2.16ghz Core2duo Dell Latitude D830
VM XP sp2 with 1 gig of ram, 2 cpus for this VM, no other VM's running at the time.

Yeah, running the relocker will return bootloader to the stock SPL-0.37.0000

im gonna pick up a touch pro my provider is telus i had a motorola v710 flashed that i currently hve the htc s720 never messed with that becuase it wasokay stock but from what i hear the pro touch lagsand a saw a vid on youtube where a dude switched up his rom and had it moving like lightning so is that what this is instructing to me and pointers or guidelines i should follow? thanks in advance -TRILLA

Hello everyone
I having been trying to unlock my touch pro but I keep getting a connection error.
Activesync is ready when I run the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe
I am not sure what else I can do
I also have .net 3.5
I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I have never had any problems with other phones like the Diamond or the original Touch.
Any input is appreciated.

I've been having the same issue with my Sprint TP, I think. I connect it just fine, ActiveSync sees it, and I get the tri-color bands on the phone. But then ActiveSync disconnects and Windows plays the "device disconnected" sound. A few minutes later I get a connection error from the Hard-SPL app. Nothing is even written to the device... everything is intact and unchanged when I soft-reset.

This happens for all the USB ports on my laptop. I tried restarting Windows as well as hard-resetting the device. Still no go.

If it makes a difference, I'm on a Macbook running XP Pro through VMWare Fusion. People on XDA have reported success with this setup with the GSM version of the TP.

And yes, I've read lvdata's post a few pages back, but for me XP never seemed to try to re-recognize the device. I'll try to manually connect it within VMWare in a bit and see if that does anything....

Any ideas?

nevermind!! if anybody has problems connecting the touch pro to run hard spl try to uncheck advanced network at usb to pc in settings then connections..man i was frustrated but i finally thought about it..!!! duuhhhh (thats what happens when you get bored with certain phones and dont visit the site as much as you did before)

I ran into a problem...I'm sure I'm not the only one out there doing these things on a Mac.

Here's what happened.

I set up an active connection in Vista, using vMware Fusion. Then I got my TP connected to the WMDC.

Then I followed the directions and started up Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037.exe

I followed all of the prompts and ran into an issue while flashing. At one point after flashing began and after I received the tricolor screen I lost my connection and received an error message from the RUU. After exiting the RUU I removed my battery from my TP and ten proceeded to the boot screen. I was met with the Tricolor screen and a message that said "Security Unlocked" and something about "SPL-0.37" pr seomthing like that.

Did it take??

with virtual machines, sometimes you hafta run this unlocker twice... double check the bootloader screen...

Got it...Unfortunately it was a no go from my Mac. I had to goto a Windoze machine. Everytime the bootloader screen came up, my Mac would loose connection and the RUU would not push the update.

Everything is good now though.

Two questions:
1) My Touch Pro says I have ROM 1.05xxx or something like that and it says I'm upgrading to the 0.37 ROM. I bought my phone straight up from the Alltel store so would it be an improvement to put the HSPL_037 ROM on there?

2) Also, when I ran the RUU utility the first time, my laptop blue screened. Anyone else having similar problems? Thanks
