Nice info man!
But every time i try to upgrade hard spl it gives me error 262, i searched everywhere and never found a solution. I tried on 2 htc touch pro's one alltel and 1 sprint and none work. I dont know what im doing wrong.

I have tried to unlock my new Cellular south touch pro using steps in post #1 at least 5 times to no avail. Is Cellular south a different breed or what. Is there anyone that can help please.
I have unlocked a sprint touch pro before using this method but now i'm lost. :banghead::confused:

try this. click start-settings-connections-usb to pc, then uncheck or check the box under activesync
what problem are you having? please give details of what steps you're doing and what is going wrong or what error you're getting.

I am getting a "ERROR 284 : UPDATE ERROR", the RUU has encountered a communications error during update process".

Again I have flashed several roms in the past year with no problems on a sprint touch pro. Now this Cellular south touch pro is being a pain.

This is how I proceed to install the unlocker. The strange thing is am I running the right RUU. I extracted it to a new folder and only one icon is in the folder. When I click that icon to run and the pop up window begins instructing me I notice that in the folder another RUU is resent with other icons. (ROMUpdateUtility)

I run the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037 (the only icon after extraction in new folder) and follow the steps on my laptop. I have flashed several roms so I know know this procedure well. I get the tricolor screen then do the check boxes and then press next several times. The grey downloading box never shows up just an error after about 30 - 45 seconds.
I then go to the recovery and it works every time. Then I sit frustrated for a few minutes wondering how a noob can unlock his new phone so he can play with it. LOL

I have the following during the tricolor screen.
RAPH800 MFG
SPL-0.25.C-SSPL
MICROP-RAPH (LED) v8C85
MicroP-Raph (KEY) v8685 (I think hard to see in green)
PSOC-Raph STAGE_EVT v20

Still tricolor after a few minutes now resetting, Reset successful.
Be gentle and understanding to this noob please.

reboot computer, then try the suggestion i gave arabseal above. if that doesn't work then uninstall microsoft activesync from your computer, then reinstall it. then try it again

Thanks for your attention and help. I ended up doing this via sd card. I learned how to format the card to FAT32 and had to purchase a card reader. But this did the job again thanks you are a real help to the noobs. =D>

I get "AthenaWrapper has encountered an error and needs to close" immediately after I try to open the included HardSPL in this thread, as well as other CDMA HardSPLs. The downloads are fine as far as I can tell, and I have updated to the latest .NET Framework.

A little background: initially I found a HardSPL that I thought had worked and tried to flash my ROM afterward but got the ERROR 284 communications error (see below). However, after seeing some posts telling users to try a different ROM I tried a few others with the same result. Now I see it was never unlocked to begin with.

My bootloader:

RAPH800
SPL-0.36.0000
MicroP-Hermann (LED) v0C85
MicroP-Hermann (KEY) v0685
PSOC-Raph Stage-EXT v20

(USB when connected)


But how can I unlock my SPL when my PC won't run the programs?



I got the same error ("ERROR 284 : UPDATE ERROR, the RUU has encountered a communications error during update process") while trying to install a new ROM from the bootloader screen after sitting on 0% on both the PC and phone. Is the problem really ActiveSync?



I am a first-time ROM flasher, and learning as I go. Please forgive me if any of these problems have already been addressed in previous posts. I simply do not have time to comb through 90 pages! And yes, I used the search function.

SOLUTION:I believe this was solved by simple reorganization. I think I had an extra RUU or HardSPL in the same folder as the one I was trying to install. After moving the desired HardSPL to its own folder, it worked perfectly, and am now running Juicy's ROM effectively. Sounds stupid in retrospect, but that's how we learn, eh? Thanks!

Quick Question, I registered here last night and just finishing reading the whole thread, and do not think I missed this.

If I Hard SPL the phone will it delete stock programs such as the MP3 Trimmer, JetCet Print etc? I understand and have backed up contacts, but did not see if it will delete stock programs.

unlocking the phone will not change anything with your current rom. the reason to unlock it is so that you can flash a custom rom, which will erase everything on the phone.

i have the same problem, i did the relocker. but how can i verify its locked, becuse i can still get to the tricolor screen mode by pressing the volume down and power button. and it says unlocked still at the top, so i dunno. anyone got any info

to verify, put the phone into bootloader mode (tri-color screen), then look at the SPL version.
0.37.cmonex = unlocked
0.37.0000 = locked
It always says Security Unlocked at the top. ignore that

What if I have a Sprint TP unlocked/flashed to Metro PCS? Do I still use the SPL for Sprint?

I got this phone flashed at Metro PCS... Not sure if it's considered to be "unlocked"... Just wondering if this will mess anything up as I had to pay Metro to flash the phone to their network...

just put it into bootloader mode to see if it's already unlocked. unlocking it will not change any of the metro pcs settings or anything else with your rom.

OK, so I'm a complete noob here. Got my Telus HTC Touch Pro back in March, but I only recently learned that I could flash it with a new OS.

Got the Hard SPL package, and I've got everything synched up with Office 2007 on Windows 7 and I'm ready to unlock it. One question, though: Will I need to get Telus do do anything so I can use the phone again once I have a new OS on it, or not?:scratch:

correct. that means it's locked. so, if you want to flash custom roms or diferent radios, then go ahead and unlock it.

When updating the ROM, I get 602 Connection Error and I have to remove the battery and restart the phone. I tried starting my phone up in Bootload mode, but the computer doesn't detect it...

What else can I do?

i don't think there's any such thing as a 602 error, but try this. on your phone, click on Start-Settings-Connections-USB to PC, then uncheck the box under Activesync. Then hit ok. then try the unlocker again.

what exactly are you trying to do? earlier you said you're trying to flash a rom, but I just want to get clarification on what rom you're trying to flash or if you're just trying to run the unlocker. little confused.
also, it help to know what error number you're actually getting. i don't think there's a 602 error. i pointed out before but i guess you missed that.

Tried on another computer and finally got it all to work... The only thing that I don't get is, when clicking on the .nbh file (pagepool_changer), the video tutorial says it should show up as "24", but mine showed up as "16".. I flashed it at "16" with no problems...until I realized the GUI looks different than the one in the video...
Can I go back and re-flash MightyRom6 with pagepool at "24"? Will this fix it?
