Also, 60% RAM usage with TF3D and default Page Pool on the Verizon TP, that's impressive!

My setup, I bypass TF3D, and I have 47% used RAM (51 MB free) on the default Page Pool (24 MB)

Finger Keyboard brings it up to 53% used RAM.

I noticed that if you press the keyboard show/hide button it tends to press the last key you typed the first time, and then hides the keyboard the second time. I also noticed the lack of the Sym key app which gives you symbols. Therefore, I recommend installing Finger Keyboard. Yes, it will increase memory usage, but I do need that _ [underscore] key!

Also, Remote Desktop has to be installed after the fact.

Yeah, I left remote desktop out, simply because I didnt think I would use it. I also left a SIP out because I use the hardware keyboard almost exclusively. I did notice that weird bug with the standard touch keyboard, I have no idea why it does that! I will definitely put the option on the first post to download and use Finger Keyboard. Everyone should have the option to get what they want!

Important to note that anyone installing the Finger Keyboard will also need the SIP Changer to keep it the default after a startup. And don't forget to go into \Program Files\Finger Keyboard\skins and remove the languages and skins you don't need/want/use to save memory.

It also couldn't initialize D3D until I installed the Diamond's ATi driver.

Right now I am trying to hunt down an Opera Mobile bug, where OpenGL rendering only works in portrait mode. Switching to Landscape bogs down OM like mad, but going back to portrait works fine. This happens even when I start OM in landscape orientation. ATi driver is not to blame, already checked that.

Update: It appears to be a Windows Mobile 6.1 specific problem. This does put a crimp on my plan to have a super lightweight OS phone. Once again, I will have to dive into the WM 6.5 world, which doesn't experience this problem...

Keep checking back, some new updates coming soon, also working on a line of "Stealth Roms" basically looks like your stock rom, but all the good stuff under the hood to make it run like the stock guys only dreamed it would.

I do have to say best rom I have flashed to my VZW TP. It has not locked up nor had to softrest in I know a week now! thanks alot for the rom and I will be testn the rest of your roms

quick question.. which Rom do i download so that it works with my Telus carrier?

I assume the generic one will work but the data connection wont?

I think that everything will work, you just have to go to your mms options and choose the telus server for recieving MMS. I have a telus carrier package, and the next revision, ill upload one just for you. Go ahead and flash the generic and do that mms settings deal, and let me know if it works. If it doesnt, i should be able to hook you up with a cab file to 'telus-ize' it for you :)

Any of you carrier jedis out there have a better answer for this person, i would be much grateful for a response :)

Revision 27 roms in the oven :-D Several fixes, D3D drivers fixed, remote desktop added, weather database editor added (so you can put your city in the weather tab).

Also, aforementioned "Stealth" rom line in the works soon as well.
In case you missed it, the Stealth roms are the roms im making that look just like the stock rom (so you can represent your provider's carriers colors in your skin), but under the hood its the just works rom, so it.. well.. just works :-D. Any suggestions for the taskbar package for my stealth rom package? I wish I knew how to create my own taskbar colors, id do something stock looking but with the carrier colors, but ive looked through the make your own taskbar pages and they made my head hurt a little.

Hello again, I installed the ROM flawlessly and it's pretty fast.
and about the Carrier issue. well I was able to get on the internet with the data connection, but I can't send any text's tells me "cause code: 32773" something about me being out of range. but after playing around. I was able to send a text IF i was already connected to the internet on the phone.

I also couldn't find the MMS settings you talked about.

besides that issue, its working great.

today it seems to be working fine. I downloaded an old carrier cab for telus for my htc titan & that seems to be working now.

Yes. Install the generic rom, then go to the text messages tab, hit all messages at the bottom left side, then press menu, and scroll down as far as you can go (theres more options below "Tools") and select "MMS Options" Hit the "servers" tab at the bottom and a list of servers (alltel, cricket, sprint, telus, verizon) will be shown in the window. Select "Verizon" in your case and press the "set as default" button. Now you can recieve MMS messages as well. I would recommend updating your PRL also when you get the rom installed. (Dial *228 and choose the second option: "Update your roaming capabilities" from the phone tree selections)

Excellent! Glad to hear its working okay! The next set of updates ill include a telus specific rom for ya so you dont have to do all that, if i can. (For some reason my kitchen choked, flopped around, and died when i tried to do a verizon specific rom, but ill give the telus carrier package a try)

Awesome, got it. Thanks. I've noticed that the phone doesn't vibrate when I get a text message. I have it set to vibrate both using the side volume buttons, and the sounds and notifications under settings. Maybe I'm missing something, any ideas?

Well, the only thing I would like to see at this point is a WM 6.5 version of the Just Works ROM... I've spent a couple weeks poking and prodding at Caulkin's Kitchen, but I can't find the package that keeps crashing the compiler. WM 6.5 seems to work fine with graphics acceleration in landscape mode, but none of the ROMs that work are anywhere near lightweight on resources like this one.

EDIT: Found out the Verizon Carrier cab is bonkers and that's what crashes Caulkin's kitchen when you compile.

You're not going to find a 6.5 Rom that's as lightweight as a 6.1 Rom. 6.5 is a heavier version of WM than 6.1 is, so it just doesn't exist.

For 6.1, this is probably the best Rom available right now. For a lightweight, no frills 6.5 Rom, swinnRom is the best out right now.

spiralspirit Means Internet sharing that is set up so it uses your data connection and not "phone as modem" (PAM) settings check HERE post #76 or HERE post #6 just change "sprint" to which ever carrier you are using (or the name of your data connection in some generic Roms)

Actually, I just got my custom ROM working. I stripped it down to the bare basics, got rid of all the useless window dressing, and it flies.

With a 16 MB PP I have 50-60 MB of RAM free on my Verizon Touch Pro. Usually I have 30-40 on just about every other WM 6.5 ROM I've tried. And I have YouTube. And MMS works. And Opera 10 (which has no performance problems whatsoever). etc etc and so forth.

hey im just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this but is there a solution to the ezinput issue? I don't like finger keyboard i want the stock keyboard but it lags and is hard to get it to show on the screen (hard to explain) if you've tried it then maybe you know what i mean.. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Ok, im working on the stealth rom packages, and i have the alltel one about where i like it. Theres one catch, im hoping some of you other chefs can help me out here. Once TF3D loads, its the colors and theme i want, except for the top and bottom bars (start menu very very bottom) are black, and i have to go into settings:today and choose "allteltouchflo3d" theme, and then its perfect. Anyone know how to cook the rom so it does this automagically?

Really, really love the rom. Runs so fast, and is great on battery.

A couple questions.

1) I received multiple texts, all at the same time last night. I must have been out of service for a couple minutes. Two different people sent me 3 texts each, yet the time stamp on the texts was all for the same exact time. I know they arent typing and sending that quick, is there an update CAB to get the timestamps on the texts from when they were sent, not from when they were received?

I have the 2012 fix CAB still, Im not sure if thats the appropriate one to install though.

2) Also, I seem to always have this issue with my Touch Pro that the screen will randomly go on. Does anyone know why this happens?

I just switched to this after giving the 6.5.1 roms a try and so far I'm loving it! It's even better than the last official ROM (which I ran for a month previous to this until I started having trouble with it). I wanted to love RaidZero's but ultimately just couldn't get into the "hacked together" feeling of the custom build. The phone just seemed clunky, slow, and unreliable with all the non-native programs like the taskbar, clock, S2U apps, touchflo 2.5, etc. This 6.1 rom may not be as "pretty", but the overall usability is just damn good for the way my brain works and the way I use my phone...

To answer your first question, I also have this problem occationally. I find its related in my case to the PRL and the radio. Did you install a new radio with this rom? If so, you should definitely update your prl, and it might not be a bad idea to update it anyway just to be sure. This advice isnt based on tech knowledge, its just from experience, when I've had this problem it was prl related. Ive found that when it does this, it time stamps them when the texts were recieved as well, i dont know if you can make it timestamp by sent time instead.

As far as the screen randomly going on, i dont have this problem, so im not sure its rom related. The screen goes on when you slide the keyboard out, perhaps there is a fault somewhere in the hardware slider thats telling it you're waking it up when you arent. Beyond that, maybe some of the more experienced users here can contribute.

Thanks for the help. I did not change the radio, just flashed the Sprint Rom you loaded. Oh well, its not the end of the world, just didnt know if there was a quick fix. Ill update the PRL and Profile.

The screen thing has been an issue for me regardless of what Rom I have flashed. Its weird, and it stinks when it happens in my pocket because I have no idea the screens on and just drains my battery. Ill have to make a more general post now that I know its not ROM related.

Great rom. I just installed it and it's definitely a lot more reliable and stable. I have 2 problems though. Ever since installing this rom NONE of my wall chargers charge the phone anymore, but it charges perfectly fine with a usb cable connected to my pc/ps3. The wall chargers are working perfectly fine and worked on previous roms that I used and also worked on my cousins MyTouch. My second problem is much smaller, but I can't seem to get Beejive IM to work on this rom. Any suggestions??
Also as someone else stated my internet tab doesn't work. How can I get it to launch Opera 10?

I installed yesterday - great ROM! One question though - even though PIE is installed and I can add the shortcut to the Programs screen and it works, the "Internet" screen won't launch it. Is there a fix for this that I missed?

thank you for your rom, so far so good but i havent messed with it yet.

i have metro pcs and i used the generic version... when attempting to install my wap and mms cab it runs into a problem... not sure why but it just says it cannot be installed when its nearly finished.

edit: just found a prob with the camera, not able to switch save location from main memory to memory card
