Have you ever looked at Quickmenu? Does the task mgr stuff and lets you close the programs with the X.

so every button press vibrates the phone..i know theres a registry change to turn that off but i cant find a reg edit program either...and typing is really laggy with hardware keyboard...any ideas?

@blokgang... that setting is where its SUPPOSED to be...Settings\ Personal \Buttons. I normally reg that disabled. gotta clean my kitchen a bit.

@skydve...I know quick menu ... It doesnt do what xtask does. xtask does what quickmenu does and a whole lot more. For 1 .. w/xtask you taskbar is more like win start bar... you can press the icon to minimize app or switch directly in between. It has the filemgr ... whick looks GREAT with small icons!! It has ALL the tsk mgr functions of dutty task mgr. Seriously .... outside of the REALLY bad english (developer is chinese) Xtask is da Shhh...

when MS moved the close button... they broke alot of tskmgrs INCLUDING their own. Simply stated all a tskmgr does is tell WM.. if someone touches top right corner then close the open program. WM doesnt automatically start to close programs until ram if full. We need a tskmgs that says..."when someone touches bottom right corner then close program" xtask does that. And as said earlier it IS running from flash... doing its thing right now. The only time you'll see it by default is when a program RUNS.

i cant seem to add an appointment to the calander on the screen or using the menu button..i use my phone for appointments quite a bit so this could be a problemo lol

@gizelle... family first bro.. glad to have u bak. Apparently im cooking 2day. You may have upto 4 different Roms to test as my plan is to play a bit more w/the cache strategy. I may release 2 versions of the SAME ROM with different cache mgmt. I turned the phone into a gas guzzling hot rod LOL.

I've been thinking about the xtask/xhook learing curve. As a former teacher I SAW this coming. I'm not really open to switching to a new tskmgr. Xtask is really just too good. If many others are having difficulty with it ... I may just post an instructional vid.

Finally ... ouside of the minor annoyances of upgrades, My kitchen is close to how I'd like it. So, Im ready to update some eye-candy. If you see any icon sets / wallpaper or other cool stuff you'd like to see in a rom... Send the suggestion... I WILL check it out.

i turned auto send receive mail off...and auto receive weather off...but for some reason something still wants to access data and it drains my battery fatser with my data connection always up....any idea what could need outside info other than mail and weather? i havent installed any other programs yet

Cool.... but like progresso sauce... ITS already IN THERE!!! Second Post will be where you can follow updates and additions. Doing one last wave of test before putting the rom up. Gave a lil speed back so the rom feels.... smooth the way it is now. Its still wayyy faster than RC2. Just Not Holy Chyt fast on some screens then studddery through others. I AM gonna miss how fast all people used to come up... that is typically the slowest page of the sys. Still though ... battery HAS to be better on this ONE, and its NOT slow.

PP Reduced In an attempt to save some battery (I liked dynamic PP but It seem to not play nice w/dynamic cache)

I was able too cook in some "more friendy" xtask setting. Will re-write the tutorial, but in short..The "start hook" hotspot has been expanded. It is now the ENTIRE reigion LEFT of the messaging icon in the taskbar. Rookies can now start drag from the top left to desired hotspot instead of trying to find the "sweet spot"

i want to upgrade to rev02b but when i try n download it it only comes up as a file, not a zip file like everything else, do i have to have your original rom running or something n then put this one on somehow or whats going on...?

I'll check the download... but i use 7z format for compression. You should be able to extract w 7zip, winrar, or peazip to extract... just to name a few. If your already running one of my roms then you should have a capable archive utility....

Edit... LOL of all the area's to have an issue. Thanks... fixed for future downloads. For your issue just rename the file you downloaded. add .7z to end of the file. 4shared did not keep the file extention during renaming. The file should be fine... just misnamed. (+rep given)


**note2self**Seems Like i will be trying my hand with a sense 2.1 rom... I did promise verizon support. But i dont want 2 ... split branch. Still ... need 2 build a seperate sense 2.1 kitchen =( ... Not really looking foward 2 that. Its landscape vs better fb intergration.... 2.1 mods are getting nicer.

Any way to make the startmenu 4 rows? I know there are cabs, but many of them are not compatible with sense 2.5

Also, the contacts on my people tab don't update the pictures according to the facebook profile. I setup facebook account in settings, and set it to update.

MMS doesn't work on my Alltel/Verizon TP. Its not the Verizon version of the phone, its on the Verizon network. Phone is same as Sprint (which this ROM is made for)

4 row start menu... My preference in all roms w/ unorganized start menu. Will search for compatible cab... actually i should have one on my sd card, checking and will attach to first or second post if i find.

The facebook thing is a known issue with the manila 2.5 port, and album 3.2. there may be an updated facebook sdk out there, will do more digging into this issue cuase it annoys me too. Only happens to me when i open someones online album, updating the contact by itself corrects the problem sometimes.

MMS on Alltel, I cant test but i'll bite. MMS works for me on boost. Did you try to manually change server settings?? MMS arcsoft package comes from caulks kitchen, so if it works for you on another caulks built rom im not sure where else to dig. All i did was ADD boost to the reg. All other carriers setting i left ALONE.

Yea it worked for me on Lunacies ROMs. The MMS thing worked on his ROM but it diverted me through the Microsoft messenger I think. And for some reason the picture was reallly small. Maybe he could help you with the Facebook issue, his works flawlessly. I LOVE some of the features on this rom though, keep up the good work.

the youtube app doesnt seem to work correctly..it runs very slow and choppy with no sound..and i know its not my connection..maybe a driver issue of some sort?

Suffering from Kitchen Crash incurred while trying to get a handle on the youtube issue. I've wanted to clean my kitchen anyway so I'm basically rebuiding from scratch... AGAIN. eh.. more of like a remerge but still will take some time to get back up and cooking. Sometimes the only way to go foward is to take a few steps back. I have backups of my "OLD" kitchen ... but i think this will serve a bit better moving forward. Much less digging though the kitchen to figure out how Psyki did things, where things are ect. I'm probably gonna need a day or two .. and I may just move on up to 23518, Then try a 23518/28205 hybrid. 28205 has proven itself fast and buggy... dialer issues out the ying yang. Plus they moved a bunch of stuff. IDK... the more i dig the more i DONT LIKE. The "NEW" kitchen IS making bootable roms NOW... Im just getting the EXT in order before dropping a new sys on it.


**Update: New Kitchen =D .... MUCH Better ROMS from here on out. Fixed... Well Just about everything, down to the doubling of the device info icons in the control panel. Lockscreen, youtube, sms, mms, runnning on 23518 so testing the threaded email.... even got the location service tab working, it may have been running in the background keeping or calling the internet connection. LOL i now know what it does. Anyway.. Should have a new rom up sometime tomorrow. Feeling MUCH better about moving forward.

I have some things that I observed not working proper:
1. The call history doesn't seem to be working OK, it updates after you restart the phone.
2. When you call someone and you insert a wrong # you have no way to correct it until you restart dialing the hole # again or open the digital keyboard.
The keyboard icon is covering the "All phone" button.

3. When someone cals and you are conected the "call and end " buttons hide under the bothom bar.

Thank You guys for your participation.... I am no longer a fan of ANYTHING that came out of my old kitchen. Too Many conflicts. This time around things will be MUCH BETTER =) The Rom is pretty much ready. BIG CHANGELOG, I'm having 1 minor/major issue which may just have 2 stay 4 now. Just got a new idea on it to too writing this!!! Still the ROM has been named "Rebirth" for the past two days. It seems kinda ironic but It should be done today and it happens to be my bday =) .. So if the ROM isnt up by 8pm GMT-5 it won't be up till tomorrow

EDIT... Uploading, Then Party =D ... Screenshots tommorrow. Consider this a NEW ROM. Forget the old. Changes include a roll back to opera 9.7 w much better flash support... is still a lil buggy but if you freeze its opera NOT the device, just hard home key out then close opera. Happens when you try to move some flash on screen... been swapping 3d drivers trying to take care of the issue. Turned off the today skin in xtask, upgraded that as well but ran into a bleeding background issue that i had SOLVED before... has something to do with using png as background so just turn off the background. I actually like it better this way... i dont get "lost" in the task mgr anymore. Boots to Manila/Sense now. Intial setup... just do a "hook" from that icon that you hate to "exception" and your off and running. I dare say.... EVERYTHING WORKS!!! Please let me know if it doesnt. Edit... I also discovered that the shortcut for sharepoint isnt in the build... cab updated to add this shortcut as well. You'll have 2 restart for the changes to take... I havent yet figured out how to make a cab force reboot.

PP ... Idk IMO 64MB is HIGH... very high. sure its runs quick but the way i learned it cooking for the wing/herald years ago, PP is mem that is always in use. Settings that high should kill the battery. I dont recommend PP above 24mb and usually dont run a PP higher than 16mb. I do build TESTING at 6mbPP ant this ROM was released at 12mb. Still.. it IS a new rom, and if your not having battery issues running at 64... You've got me curious to see how it runs at 0 (dynamic)
