Ok, actually, if I start it in portrait and then put it in landscape, it sometimes gives me problems as well.

Here's a video documenting the issue, hope it helps.

ROOT - rocking the Carbon ROM from yesterday. Runs like lightening! I'm going to put it through the paces for the rest of this week into the weekend to see what's up. Some experiences:

Hotmail configuration through Live didn't work, so I went to the Marketplace to download a new version of Live and the Marketplace threw me an error. I needed to make a minor reg edit to the Aku [like we used to do when Marketplace first came out] - then everything was golden. I got into Marketplace, downloaded the Windows Live cab and was able to get Hotmail runing proper.

When I was playing with the Hotmail config, I tried disabling Sense to see if I could get Hotmail set up with it off. Once I turned Sense off, not having a Settings Icon in the Start Menu threw me for a loop. A quick reg edit will display the Settings Icon in the Start Menu again, but I was curious if there's some cool new way to toggle Sense that I might be overlooking. I don't mind changing my workflow to go to the Settings tab to get to everyting, but when Sense is disabled...how else could you enable it without START-SETTINGS-TODAY?

Arkswitch is very cool. I changed the activation field so it was smaller and pushed to the far left of the taskbar. Now, I can use my thumb to activate it and close all running programs, or use my thumb to access the tabbed All Programs mod [the activation feild for this is now in the middle of the taskbar]. I couldn't really figure out how to toggle between them like you instructed [closing all programs, then clicking the area again or something], but changing the activation area REALLY worked well for me.

I had an Active Sync issue, but de-selecting "click here for faster data sync" seemed to fix it.

All in all I think this is a KILL rom. It has everything - the speed, the stability, the looks. The ONLY thing I'd look to change is the Internet tab. On the February 8th ROM [darkmax combo] I had the "compact" internet tab, which gave me three quicklinks that fit well on our VGA screens. Is that mod possible on this build? I don't want to drop a manila file in and mess anything up, but it's a mod I enjoyed.

A glorious ROM!

I'm running the Carbon Rom as well, so far so good =) What's the reg edit to bring the setting icons back into the start menu?

I will try the compact net tab as well as work on windows live issues.
Will also see about settings icon on start menu.

Thanks Root. None of these were major issues...and the Internet tab was a nice-to-have. You're killing it on these roms!

...and here they are. Give thanks to the guys that posted them earlier in the thread...or don't. Your call. ...I would. :)

For Marketplace, Windows Live/Hotmail:

Marketplace connection errors are the result of a custom entry in the Aku. Use a reg editor to change
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Versions from "by rootlinux" to .5.3.00 - don't forget the period leading that string of numbers.

This will let you get into Marketplace. From there, download the Windows Live application to take care of any problems you might run into getting Hotmail set up. After I installed Windows Live, Hotmail configuration was as it's been.

For Settings Icon in the Start Menu:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Shell\StartInfo "HideSettings"=dword:0

Make sure the entry is "zero" to get the icon back. This helps if you turn Sense on and off a lot, for mods and such.

EDIT: Another question. My screen shuts off when it's connected to a power source, after about 30 mins. I disable all of the HTC backlight settings for dimming and shutting it off, and rely on Lumos. Something still seems to be shutting the screen off after about 30 minutes. Are there any other programs installed that might have something to do with this? I can touch the center button to bring it back without a prob...just curious, because I haven't run into this before. thanks in advance.

Thanks Three.
Not sure is the net mod will crash Sense on the new builds. May have issues with landscape.
Will try to get time tonight to test it.

Check S2U2 settings maybe.
Have not noticed as I always turn my screen off when connected.

Will look into that as well.

Yea, I wasn't going to drop a manila file without checking to see if it'd be compatible. I wasn't even thinking of a conflict with landscape. I'll google around and see what's out there.

...I'll check it out. I'm not using S2U, but that could be a cause.

RAGE!

Well I made the registry edits the ThreeFace talked about and Marketplace works now. Out of curiosity, how the heck did you know to change that? It seems so obscure! Sort of like Pandora crashing if Windows Media player is on shuffle!

Was there a registry editor cooked in? I downloaded and installed PHM registry editor for it to work but not sure if there was something hidden somewhere that I missed.

Google my friend...a little trade secret. That Marketplace issue though was an older setting that needed to be changed for it to work on custom ROMs. I had it written down and did it as part of my trouble shoot.

If I hit an issue I don't know how to fix, I always Google first. You figure if there's an issue you're having with your device, someone else likely had it as well, so it's worth a look. Google also pulls search results from PPCGeeks. :)

Registry Editor. I have SKTools. I don't know if it's a free program, but it has a lot of useful tools, so I've always kept it on my device. There's a reg editor built in. Any reg editor will work.

When MarketPlace officially came out it seemed the leaked versions of the software started failing all over the place as Roms with that personal registry setting changed to something non-Microsoft tried to connect. Obviously Microsoft is having Marketplace check specifically for that registry setting to ensure that only non-customized Windows ROMS can use the app... not sure who figured it out, but its been posted out there on the Internet for a good while though.
